The thing that attracted us to this restaurant was the sign outside. Yes, It was exactly what we were looking for. No Pizza, No Pasta. No Diet Coke. No Cappuccino. No Internet. A sure sign that it was not a typical touristic restaurant. Yes, it's small and yes you may have to wait for a small table either indoors or out. But the local feeling is well worth it. And yes you are offered a glass of wine if you do have to wait. My husband and I ordered (sort of under duress in a good way) the bean soup. We love soups of all kind and this was by far the best bean soup we have ever had. The feeling of the place was outstanding. Locals making local food the way it should be made. Nothing pretentious just good food served up simply. The tables indoors are very close together and it makes for great conversation with those seated near by. We enjoyed our lunch of Bruschetta , Bean Soup and a bottle of wine while having a visit with our table mate from New York City. Prices are very affordable too.

Tiny restaurant. Tiny menu selection but everything we had was stupendous! Fagiola soup. Wonderful! Grilled pecorino with ham. Heavenly. Salad with incredibly fresh tomatoes. Loved every minute and every bite!

Fabulous authentic Italian food in a beautiful piazza in picturesque Pienza! Don't miss the amazing bean soup, grilled cheese and bacon and homegrown tomatoe dishes...absolutely divine and our favourite meal while we were in Italy. Kick back, enjoy a table outdoors and let the generous host order for you, you won't be sorry!

Yes, the bean soup was probably the best we have ever had and the melted cheese toast with bacon made me swoon. But probably what made the experience so memorable was how we were taken care of by the owner. Yes, we did wait for a table as we wanted to sit outside in the lovely paizza. We were given wine and the owner made sure to keep track of who came when. He ultimately set up a table for us and then also set up an umbrella to provide shade making sure it was set just right for each of us. Then we were give luscious vin Santo at the end of the meal. A final picture with the owner and we said "arrivederci." Did I mention a great WC!

Firstly, we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table because they were flat out, but all good because there were two bottles of complimentary wine to drink while you wait. We sat down and the waiter picked out his recommendations on the menu then left us to decide. When we were ready he came back and with our choices he said things like I'll add tomatos in that it will be nice etc. he also offered us complimentary bruschetta for waiting! So nice! The food was amazing! Simple Italian cooking that was perfect for lunch. As we went to paid he offered us complimentary home made Vin Santo and biscuits... but he offered us a small bottle! As we paid he took the cover charge off as well. The bill was €21! We tipped and went on our way! We have never encountered service like this in the whole of Italy and the food was so incredibly lovely! If you need to wait for a table please do it will be so worth it!!!
