A lovely ristorante of which we enjoyed for three meals. Located in the tiny but busy little town of Staggia Senese within the Castle Staggia wall. The food and service were absolutely wonderful! The pizza is traditional Italian and oh so amazing. Try the margarita pizza, basic but loaded with flavor! I had the best gnocchi dish I have ever eaten. The gnocchi was topped with a delightful tomato and garlic sauce, so full of flavor and simply melted with ever bite. One of the best dishes during the entire two weeks abroad! My husband was over the moon with his dish of outdoor brick oven grilled chicken. If you sit outside under the covered dining area, you will have the chance to watch them cook right in the brick oven! The surroundings are quite and very pleasant, give them a try!

My wife and I visited this, as one of the few restaurants in Staggia, after having a tour of the nearby Castle and its art installations ( another review). We have visited Italy and Tuscany a number of times so are no strangers to Italian cuisine. The restaurant was just off of the Main Street, well signposted, and we sat outside under the awning ( please remember to use mosquito repellent in the summer months as the insects love to live under table tops). The service was prompt with drinks served immediately whilst we had time to peruse the menu. My wife chose the ricotta and spinach ravioli with fresh tomato sauce whilst I had the pappardelle with wild boar sauce ( a Tuscan staple). We both agreed that the food was the best we had eaten in Italy that holiday, and probably for a number of years. It was simply prepared, with first class ingredients, fresh and beautifully presented, even for a small village restaurant. I cannot remember the price, it was so sensible as to be unmemorable. Restaurants like this deserve to go on and on. Thank you for a lovely meal, pleasant service and a wonderful location to have a relaxing meal in.

Nice quiet location under an awning outside. Only thing that put us off was the large TV. Seemed to cater for a lot of locals which is a good sign. Food was good quality and excellent value. Not sure if we missed the wine list but the house red was pretty good at €7 a litre. Service was a bit chaotic but that added to the atmosphere and we weren't in a hurry!

it was a very nice quaint little restaurant. we arrived there when everything else was closed. they were willing to serve us but on a very limited menu. very little English spoken. the meal was antipasto, salada, caprese salada and wine. nothing hot but it was wonderful just the same.
felt a little bad when the workers were all eating hot pasta meals inside though...

The food at this places is almost faultless.

Very large portions on the starters, especially the pastas and the really good thing is the unmistakable freshly made pasta.

Will definitely go back. :-)
