Excellent personal service. The rooms are immaculate, large, comfortable and tidy. Home cooked English breakfast. Great atmosphere. Fantastic location within easy walking distance of the bars and restaurants in town and on the river. Overall a perfect stay. From my first contact with the hotel to change my stay Elena gave quick help and perfect service. I will definitely be staying again :)

Room tip: Room was large, tidy and comfortable. Good TV reception. Excellent WIFI. Bath and Shower. Ideal

After seeing some bad reviews on here, I was sceptical about staying at Oliver's Lodge.
However, the rooms are actually OK, the bed is comfy and the bathroom clean and modern. However, poke a little deeper and a few issues come up.

The shower is pathetic. It emits a fine spray only after waiting for 5 minutes to get the hot water coming through. Other rooms are similar, so this isn't a one off.

The hotel is on a busy road, so morning traffic woke me up and also the rather thin curtains bring the morning light to wake me up far too early in summertime.

The broadband is one of the fastest I've seen in a hotel and I measured 135mb/s.

Breakfast was really nice served by the friendly staff, but please give the conservative a damn good clean!

For the price, I guess I can't complain, but a few tweaks would improve the hotel considerably.

Room tip: A room in the main part of the hotel

My partner and I stayed here for one night to attend a wedding in st ives.
I emailed to ask if we could check-in early, which was fine. They allowed us to check-in from 10:30 at no extra cost.
Met by a very friendly lady who gave us information on area/where to eat etc. Restaurant wasn't open but not an issue for us.
Room was a good size. Bathroom was gorgeous but put the room to shame. The carpet could have done with a clean but not a problem for one night. Bed was comfortable. Nice and quiet. Big TV. Good tea/coffee making facilities.
Breakfast was amazing. Lots for your money and again, staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The slightly grotty carpet in room and dated decor of the place could be changed and bring the visual inline with the service received, the building doesn't do the staff justice. I would definitely stay here again.

Booked a room at fairly short notice. All the rooms were fully booked but was offered a room awaiting refurbishment at a reduced price which I gratefully accepted. The room was perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable- ensuite with tea/coffee etc. Excellent wi fi, spacious car park, ideally located just a 5 minute walk to the beautiful town of St Ives. Breakfast was plentiful- I don't have a cooked breakfast and was offered a bacon sandwich to take away instead which was delicious. The staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Elena on reception is an asset to the hotel. As a bonus was allowed to leave my motorbike kit and helmet for safekeeping during my day of departure and was given a room to change in before I went home. Only one thing I could suggest- a fan. It was a very warm weekend but I am sure if I had thought to ask one would have been found. Definitely coming back again

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The accommodation was absolutely fine, basic but nothing to complain about, apart from the fact that the room was so hot! The central heating was on, in the room and the corridors and the temperature outside was sunny and warm, in fact I actually got sunburnt on the second day. It was quite uncomfortable and we couldn't turn it off because the adjustment knobs were not on the radiator. We did speak with the receptionist and the manager/owner about this but nothing was done about it. The location of the hotel is really good, just a five minute walk into St Ives and the breakfast was good too. Would stay at this hotel again, if the heating problem was sorted out.

Room tip: Ask for a cool room!
