I can only hope the can step up to the high standards they advertise. Service was inconsistent and staff, while friendly mostly, did not seem to be able to address guest needs if it was anything but simple requests. The best staff seemed to be the welcome crew. Rooms are spacious, with a patio bathtub on the upper floors or a swim area on the ground floor. We did have several power outages while there one while in an elevator. Several fire alarms going off that were malfunctions, Hours in some restaurants and shops not consistent with what was posted. Room amenities different (contents of in room refrigerators, toiletries) between rooms of the same levels.
The facility is new and has great potential to be a premier location. The staff, however, needs serious training to learn how great guest service is given. It will make the difference between success or failure. Anyone may go once, the goal is to have a guest return and recommend - unless they improve, I would not do either.

The property is gorgeous, pools were awesome. We were in building 8C, and we had reasonable wifi from our room. The room was very spacious, clean, and in excellent shape. I only have two minor complaints about the room - you need doors that do not leave an opening on the bottom - the wind whistles through that tiny opening and can get pretty loud. Weatherstripping maybe? There were power outages every day, however none lasted more than about 45 seconds. The only drawback to this is resetting the clock so don't rely on your bedside clock for alarms, use the wakeup call service instead.

The restaurants were all good. The food in each was quite good, with Himitsu and Portofino being the stars. Only one service problem one night. Not a big deal. The buffet for breakfast I thought was very good, and I only ate there once for lunch - wasn't spectacular but wasn't bad. Room service was fast and the food was good and hot when it arrived.

The staff was very friendly, and did their best to meet our needs and requests. They also did their best to deal with a lot of UGLY behavior from seriously out of control guests. I've never been to an all-inclusive resort before, and hope that is not normal behavior for guests. I personally never went without a cocktail or water when I wanted it, and there was always waitstaff around when I wanted something.

The resort is remote. While the tours we took were all day trips we felt that the time required wasn't unreasonable. I HIGHLY recommend Alex on the Beach as tour guides - they made the drives interesting and engaging, not just a ride in a bus. Do not miss the Palo Verde river tour with Alex. It was the highlight of our trip. There are other things to do closer to the resort, if you do some research and ask the tour guides they can find things for you to do that don't take all day.

I definitely would come here again, should my travels take me to the same area.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay and we were wishing we could have stayed an additional week! Yes, the drive from the airport is long but we loved it because we got to see the landscape of Costa Rica and getting on to the dirt road coming down the mountain has got to be one of the most beautiful views we've ever seen. The resort is just gorgeous nestled on the hill sprawling to the beach cove. Our room was gorgeous, we had an ocean view junior suite on the second floor which had a jacuzzi tub and comfy couch with a ceiling fan on the back patio. We were a couple so the bathroom layout didn't matter to us but I could imagine it being rather uncomfortable for
a family as there is only a sheer curtain dividing the room. The room was stocked with waters, cokes, fantas, juice, Coronas, Pringles, M&M's and mini bottles of vodka & scotch. Everything is restocked daily. We did not have trouble like other people talk about with the food service as we ate dinner between 8-9 every evening and the crowds had left. I would say that our service was excellent in all the restaurants and the wait staff was very friendly. I will say however that the pool bars are understaffed for the amount of people drinking. Also, we discovered that really anyone can get into the premium lounge as it is not regulated so give that a try because it's nice. After dinner we would go to the disco with other couples and really have a great time!I am also a runner and really enjoyed running the beach cove every morning. The cove is about a half mile. I ran once barefoot and the sand was so soft. The only thing to watch for are sea snakes, they look dead, but they're not! We also took a deep sea fishing trip which was amazing! They picked us up right on the cove. We caught & released an 80lb rooster fish and had the time of our lives! We absolutely loved Dreams and hope to return someday. We highly recommend it. Pura Vida!!

This hotel is beautiful, there is no way you can deny it.. But lets start with main concerns that caught my attention..
How come this is a almost brand new hotel and they are already looking for options on how to save money? This simply looks terrible and make us think a lot of things.. There is a lot of room for improvement for chiefs executives that are always making things worse. I love people, but this mexicans simply suck! They are so rude, they do not know how to treat a guest or even their own employees and they always have a bad attitude.. I talked with a supervisor named Abel and he is a nightmare..
The person in charge of Bell Boys lost our suitcase and a couple of bags the first two hours we got there, also mexican.
Getting to the room, we found someone else's bags in our room, so we called Front Desk and Dante said it was our mistake, how come it can be our mistake when they are the ones giving us the room and the respective keys?
Then dinner. One hour and a half in a line to get to the restaurant, to wait for 45 min just for the appetizer.. Simply a mess!! Dress code required..
It's very visible how they are handling things and how they are just reducing budget, trying to save expenses from everywhere.. That shows lack of organization, planning and experience..
Pools are nice but entertainment sucks.. Same activities everyday and the staff in charge does not even speak good english, which makes things a little more difficult and boring..
Kids Club is amazing, there was a girl called Jessica with a giant heart and always willing to help and inform! She was amazing with our kids!! Also a couple of bartenders at the Pool Bar and at the Preferred Club who were very nice and kind..
At the time of check out, we were being charged for incidental charges from a different room!!!! Can't explain why! There was a romantic dinner charge we didn't get and when we asked the Concierge supervisor, a guy named Tony, he couldn't help us and told us we had to pay for something we didn't get.. Ridiculous!
I hope they can fix these little details for future guests since are things that are hard to forget and make the difference in a stay like this.. Hope they can also value their employees hard work since it's not easy to deal with hot weather and they really look like they are not happy!!
Great food, great view and nice country!

We spent a week at this resort for a wedding with a big group of friends and we had a great time. The resort itself is beautiful and just the right size; it's easy and quick to get everywhere, but there's lots of places to hang out. The road driving in is not paved and it's a bit bumpy, but not as bad as some people have made it out to be. The resort is REALLY secluded but I wasn't willing to spend hours in a car or bus to go off for the day. So by the end of the week, I was getting bored and ready to go home. The landscape is brown, but it's a desert, so I'm not sure what everyone expects the resort to do about that. The beach was nice and secluded; there were jellyfish near the shore but they seem to disappear further out. We enjoyed taking advantage of the various activities available, like paddle boarding, bicycle tours and volleyball, so we kept pretty busy. Our room was gorgeous, on a corner with an ocean view and a swim out, and I have no complaints about that. Overall, the resort itself was great.
The staff was friendly, but service was hit or miss. We had a few problems here and there and sometimes we ended up getting seriously annoyed with a staff member before we could get them resolved. These complaints ranged from small annoyances, like needing a fork for dinner at the wedding and waiting the entire meal for it, to big ones like being put in the wrong room and having to insist on getting what we paid for. There were multiple times during the trip that we would be told we couldn't do simple things like put a few tables together to accommodate a group of more than four for dinner, or wanting beer/wine delivered to our swim up room where a dozen or so people were hanging out. This was very irritating and there was no reason for it. The other problem was the slowness of the bar service at the pools, especially the swim up bar. We would stand at the bar for 30 minutes and eventually give up and go somewhere else to get a drink. The setup at the pool bars needs re-evaluation to try and find more efficient ways of serving guests.
Aside from that, we did enjoy ourselves and I expect that this resort will be much better in a couple years after the kinks get sorted out.
