Its a nice place, with much space and confort.

You can enjoy the beach during the day and sit in the open air restaurant for the dinner.

The staff is smiling and makes you feel welcome.

By the way I recommend to try the sausages for starter.

I ordered them each time I came there during my trip !

We first ate at this restaurant last year and it was one of the reasons we came back to this area on holiday. We always rent a car when we visit Crete because we like to travel around the island and visit restaurants and places of interest and this holiday we ate in several very well reviewed and recommended restaurant, however, this restaurant stacked up very favourably with establishments which charged twice as much and were three times as fussy.

The restaurant is situated at the beach side, its sun beds and parasols are free to use and although there is waitress service from the bar, if you don't want to buy there is no problem, it's a very laid back atmosphere. The restaurant itself is set out in typically Greek taverna style everything very clean and welcoming in well kept lawned grounds with lots of ride on style children's toys. The food which naturally is based on traditional Cretan cuisine is exceptionally good value and very very good, salads, or mixed vegetables followed by grills or moussaka, wine and water came in at less than 25 euros for two and were the equal of anything we ate on the island whatever the price. The service was friendly and quick. Bar, restaurant and beach are well worth visiting.

4th visit to Rethymno and we regularly get the bus to Episcopie for about 2 euros each way, sit in the sun on this long and lovely beach and then eat far too much in this taverna. The sun beds are free and the food is lovely. We normally have the sardines but today I had moussaka and it was great. The sea goes in quite steep but there’s a life guard on duty. Get the bus from the bus station in Rethymno every hour on the hour. Back it’s around quarter past the hour but is generally gmt (Greek maybe time). Oh and the taverna has a small kids pool and loads of toddler ride ons.

We found this on our second last day and went back for our last day. It was perfect for us and our 18 month old. We enjoyed the drinks and he loved the playground. Nice beach and calm waters for swimming. Very good service. Only pointer is there could be a bigger snack menu.

Thank Dave I

15 min drive from Rethymnon. Nice clean beach with good service and food with great sunset. Also tings to do for small who can play children on the playground. A big bonus is that there are mostly greek people there and not so many foreign tourists. The food menue has something for everyone.
