If I could rate Zammarra 10 stars I would. We felt so lucky to have stayed there, in such a peaceful remote setting, yet nearby Noto and a short drive to the nature preserve and the SE coast which is beautiful for swimming.
Zammarra is a family-run home with a long and fascinating history. The house is filled with beautiful architectural touches and clearly was restored with lots of care and imagination. Antonio is a very warm and gracious host and has rebuilt the villa so it feels both intimate and relaxed but at the same time providing all the luxury you want. There are many areas to relax on the grounds. Our favorite was the tented area under the flowering jasmine tree. What an amazing way to spend an afternoon, with tiny hummingbirds drinking from the flowers
The property is a working farm and they grow much of the food there. In the morning you hear the bells on the sheep being herded in the field- it's a wonderful thing to see. Getting there can be a bit of a challenge at night- especially if it's your first time. The roads are small and winding. But really, that is part of the charm. We will definitely be returning- as much to visit the family as the house. A full cultural experience. And relaxing. Grazie Antonio & family!

We stayed three days in this beautiful B&B, just 10 minutes off the enchanting Vendicari natural reserve. The location is perfect, isolated in the countryside, silent, just as fresh and windy as you can desire in October. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, furnished with very good taste, the service and hospitality truly sicilian: warmness, smiling frankness (don't miss your previously scheduled breakfast!), homemade delicious sicilian specialities for breakfast... a lovely dog jumping on you in the garden from the first moment. The location appears kind of hidden in a labirinth at the beginning, but after a while (if you have a gps navigator) you sort of dominate it! All the fantastic baroque attractions of the area are reachable in not more than 30mins by car. This is the place to be.
