“A beautiful weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2012

We took a spontaneous trip from our home in Menton France, and found this hotel online the night before, we were VERY happy to find it to be so beautiful and well run, everything, the antique filled rooms, the food, the staff, was great! I would love to come back, it would be the perfect setting for a destination wedding or reunion. Bravo!

Room Tip: Our room's ancient walls were too thick for the wifi, perhaps if this is important, one can ask...

The setting of Villa Campestri is superb. The Mugello is not an area that is heavily visited bty tourists .
The food is very good, the olive oil tasting is unique in our experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay there and will go back.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are lovely and quiet. They have terrific views.

Priscilla, yes I agree with you: Mugello is a beautiful setting in a hidden part of Tuscany and 1 night stay is not enough to discover all the treasures we have. We are looking forward to welcoming you again in the near future!

Wish you all the best,

Gemma Pasquali

We stayed here for three nights in early April and loved every minute! Every member of the staff was friendly, helpful, and just all around great! They were all very attentive to our 11 month old daughter, Gemma even gave her a toy giraffe which our little one loves! They put us in a room which is in a building just off of the main hotel and we were relived about that since our little one still isn't sleeping through the night and we were concerned about disturbing other guests. The room also had a bathtub which they thought would be best since we had the baby. I was quite pleased that they were thinking ahead and were considerate of our needs.

The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning! We could have easily sat out and stared in awe everyday that we were there had it not been raining for a good portion of our visit. It's a little bit of the drive to get up to the resort but it is completely worth the effort. The location is also good for a drive into Florence and it's easy to get to the smaller towns in the area (we loved Scarperia) There are great places to walk and explore as well. The restaurant was very good and the breakfast buffet was amazing. I looked forward to the warm croissants in the mornings and miss them now that we are home.

We highly recommend Villa Campestri and hope to return again some day very soon!

it was a pleasure for us to have you here and we really thank you for your wonderful review.
Your sweet lovely baby is the most beautiful baby girl ever. Hopefullly the toy giraffe will help to remind her something about your trip to Italy!
I would love to be in touch with you and welcome you again very soon.

All the best,
Gemma

We stayed at Villa Campestri for six nights with our two young children ( 7 & 5) and had a wonderful time. Once you arrive you immediately realise that this is a privately run hotel as opposed to belonging to a chain as all the Hotel employees are genuinely there to help you enjoy your visit as much as possible. If you have a family or indeed just need to take a break without kids, this hotel allows you to relax in its surroundings of olive trees and beautiful hills.
Although we did manage to see Florence, Pisa and Siena it was always lovely to return to the hotel and it is worth giving special note to the restaurant which serves excellent food and can be compared to top tier restaurants with lovely service in warm friendly surroundings.
The people that were staying in the hotel while we were there all seemed to come from different places, countries etc but the common factor was that we all sat there for dinner knowing that it was a treat to be there.

My boyfriend and I we spent a awesome weekend in Villa Campestri in March 2012. The Villa is stunning, the restaurant is one of the best in which I ever eaten. Try up the Kobido treatment with Olive Oil!!
