We opted for the triple room - the one on top right of the property photo. The huge balcony has spectacular views & evening sun, Although its at the front of the house, the area is very quiet(apart from a huge firework display at 1 am one day during a religious festival!). There's no passing traffic as the property is at the end of a close. We had no problem finding it with our sat nav.

We used the double bed (2 singles pushed together) which had a comfortable memory foam mattress. We didn't use the air conditioning preferring to leave the door to balcony open at night for ventilation. Both the bedroom and adjoining bathroom (great shower) were very spacious. Having a mini fridge in the room was another plus ans was the secure parking. The charming owner gave us a helpful map and explained where her favourite restaurants were.

Optional breakfast was good (fresh orange juice, fruit salad, yoghurt, cheeses, hams, lovely bread, preserves, custard tart) but you need to request this at least the night before & as we were the only ones staying at the time, it did feel a little bit odd sitting around a big table in the owners part of the house - especially as she had provided so much food & there was only us to eat it!. There is a kettle in the room but when we were there, no coffee, milk or standard tea - only herbal teas

It is a 15min stroll down to the old town & nearest restaurants but the hill is quite steep so the trek back will get your heart racing!

The pool area is nice but the pool its self too cold for me despite the weather being hot (mid Sept).

Room Tip: We loved our 2nd floor room (triple) but there's no lift.

Beautiful villa, very big room with wifi and a great hostess who makes an excellent breakfast! Run by a charming couple who also run the Blue Ocean Surf School in Ribeira Dilhas. It is an excellent choice for those looking to surf in Ericeira and stay at a very warm, cosy and welcoming place.

This is quite literally a guest house... You are a guest, in the family house. So if you like the sounds of little children and the sigh of an old dog, you will be right at home. Rooms are fairly quiet although you hears noises from the doors and hallways. The terrace rooms on the front of the house have lovely views and the beds are comfortable. The wifi in the guest rooms and the pillows are very poor.

A small, modern, hotel, run by a charming young couple. Rooms with balcony have fabulous sunset views over the Atlantic, perfect for a relaxing sundowner drink. The hotel also has its own pool, and runs a surfing school for those so inclined. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous!

It's not exactly in the city centre, but that's just a short walk away.

(I actually visited in 2012, but that option isn't available in the form...)

I am a very frequent traveler and choose my accommodation very carefully. This guest house is on top of my list of favourite places to stay. The villa is gorgeous, spacious, tastefully decorated. A mix of a luxury stay combined with a home feeling.
We had a lovely room on a first floor overlooking the ocean - we later moved to an allegedly 5 star hotel in Cascais but there is no comparison with the Blue Ocean Guest House. Our room in Ericeira very big, great bed, lovely décor and a huge bathroom.
I recommend taking the breakfast option, it is really worth the money.
The owner also runs a local surf school and a great lounge/restaurant bar at the surfing beach of Ribeira. For those coming to Ericeira for surfing, this is the best address in town.
