Hotel was clean, sheets and towels changed daily and room cleaned, modern. Our family room was so nice, ground floor balcony with access to the swimming pool. Pool side bar was open from 10am to 6pm with snacks and drinks available all day and fresh hot pizza at 5pm every day. Swimming pool immaculate. Entertainment staff friendly. All inclusive dining was of a very good standard and always plentiful. What I will say is this is a hotel for Italian people and provides all inclusive packages for groups of people from Italy. Staff all Italian speaking, all info in Italian, no English tv station. Only six English people in whole hotel. Good entertainment programme if that is what you want, Yoga, Salsa dancing, step aerobics, volleyball, table tennis tournament, card games etc, but obviously you have to be prepared for the language barrier but we really enjoyed the whole break. Would definitely re-visit.

Room Tip: Ground floor, pool facing

We decided to take a confirmed 'Late Booking’ as advertised by Booking.com for a Villa managed by Arenas de Son Bou. Unfortunately matters didn’t really get off to a good start on this holiday for within 24hours before we were about to leave for the Airport the following Monday morning to catch the first flight out, we were surprised to receive an Email directly from Arenas owner’s Head Office in Mahon telling us that the villa would not actually be available as there was "a problem with it" and we'd have to take an alternative Villa location in an entirely different part of Minorca 40 miles away. They forwarded details to us of a rather old and drab looking villa in an urbanisation at Cala’n Bosh and on paper, it didn’t look very appealing. Then a second Email saying that 'their office will be unmanned over the weekend'. So quickly recovering from the shock and with very little time to spare, I got on to Booking.com to ask them to find out what had actually gone wrong with our confirmed booking. After some time it transpired that the Management Team had mistakenly (double booked) i.e. had an overlap in occupancy dates and therefore it wasn’t available to us on the date as promised. After further anxiety and 12 hours later (with bags packed and Passports ready) we were told the issue had finally been sorted out locally by the Company's Son Bou manager and that the current occupants had agreed to move out earlier than planned.

Some days before we were actually due to move in we decided to visit Arenas de Son Bou Reception desk to ensure all was as promised and heard that the original occupants had been induced to finish their holiday in Rooms at the Complex.

When we picked up the keys from reception the problems over our booking were discussed.
When we arrived at the Villa we were disappointed to find it in a rather neglected state. The patio areas were unswept and double glazing panels were incapable of being secured internally, therefore all shutters had to be locked and bolted from the inside whenever leaving the Villa unoccupied to provide any degree of security. Several lights had failed in and outdoors and grass was growing through the joints in the patio. Internally several corners and cupboards were dusty with remnants of hair lying about. The pool had no means of clearing away floating leaves and debris was visible on the bottom of the pool. Although reported to the Complex Manager (Marco) an effort to improve the general appearance of the external areas was made by staff, but it was minimal and still took me 3 hours to complete properly. The paintwork was cracked in places and the wall at the front had clearly suffered a heavy impact some months earlier and was left unrepaired.

It was very clear that the Villa was run as a rather distant 'after thought' and was not a priority for 'So Bou Arenas Apartments’ Management to address, whose main business appeared more focussed on the provision of full board ‘all-inclusive’ accommodation for their predominantly Italian clientele in the main Complex just a short distance away.

The advert photos of the Villa, as shown on Booking.com, were clearly taken when it was new and did not represent the condition of the Villa in Sept 2016. I took many photos to show how it actually appeared during our stay. The TV was unwatchable as very few channels worked and those that did were in Spanish, Arabic or presumably Italian. Most of the channels showed just a blue screen ‘No signal reception'

In short it was not a pleasant experience and not worth £1,060 per weekly rental charged

To make matters somewhat worse on returning home I discovered an Email that had been sent to us by the Arenas de Son Bou team in Mahon on the day of our departure (therefore it was too late for us to read it, as we left home at 0300 hrs) They apologised for the error and offered us by way of compensation, full access to their Restaurant for the duration of our entire stay. Unfortunately this offer was not made when we first went to reception nor made known to us whilst we were at the resort, neither by the Manager or Reception Staff or during our daily visits to the complex.

So in summary, we were left with a rather disappointing view of the Villa at Arenas de Son Bou.

Room Tip: Probably not to bother and try some other place

Half board and no kettle was the worst start possible. Short stroll to Son Bou beach took us 40 minutes (ok we are 66 years old ) but the taxi fare back was 7 euros. the free bus to the beach stopped on the 15th two days after our arrival. The show chef cooking pasta ended the same day as the bus.The room was clean, staff helpful although the hotel is past its best in so many ways. At night in the lounge two televisions showing separate stations fought the bar man's Cuban music, with them both loosing, but never fear his music was blasting out by the pool all day. The food was kept in a supposedly hot unit but we never had hot food in the restaurant at breakfast or in the evening. The chefs tried their best to produce varied food at a good standard of quality.

Room Tip: overlooking the pool if you like the heat, no air con.

Stayed at la noria one week end of august. First impressions were good. Room was big over looking the pool and nice views.
If you want a quiet holiday this is the place to come. Pool quiet for some reason but big but child friendly. Restaurant meals good first four days but then gets repetitive. Beach is lovely in son bou, best i have been to, 15 min walk. There is a bus but does,nt run that often.
What lets this hotel down there is no entertainment in the evenings boring. Dont get me wrong nice place but to quiet. If thats what you like this is your place. Happy hols

Room Tip: Rooms over looking garden quieter.

Just returned from a fantastic stay with our three boys. Pool was clean and surprisingly quiet for time of year. We felt it was ours to fully enjoy! Rooms were clean, basic but to be honest we spent very little time there as we fully enjoyed the accommodation. We stayed all inclusive and never asked for anything. We went out for a meal in son bou on a recommendation, which was lovely but the food at la noria far supassed it. We couldn't fault it and always found staff pleasant and friendly. My youngest especially loved the pasta station where pasta is cooked fresh for you. Would we recommend you stay here?? Hell yes!!!!
If you want a relaxing holiday away from the packaged British then this is for you. We devastated that we didn't book for longer than a week.
We loved the hotel staff, they all worked so hard, especially the bar man/ bus driver!!! We also had lovely experiences of fellow Spanish holidaymakers, who made us and our boys very welcome.
Loved every minute!!!

We stayed 1 week, first of july, all inclusive! Kids loved the self serve bars and snacks. Food at the restaurante was great, the fish specially! Nice assortment of salads, hot dishes and pastas.
Only thing was deserts were a bit repetitive! Apartment was big enough for us 4, clean and confortable. No air-con, but the fans solved it. Towels shanged every day, bed linem every 2 days.Staff super friendly, from room maides, reception, restaurante, pool lifeguard and beach van driver!! The surroundings are very nice, great view from terrace. Pool is well kept, warm clean water, was hard to get kids out of it!! Menorca looks like european Caribe, and La Noria presented us an all inclusive very satisfactory. Long sandy beach with warm water, made one week look to short!

Stayed at the la Noria for 1 week al inclusive beginning of June .After researching the area as I wanted a quiet peaceful holiday and enjoy watching wildlife, i could not of expected any thing better. The surroundings and gardens of the hotel were lovely. The rooms were spotless and comfortable .food , fantastic ! great choices , great self serve bar and snacks ! all the staff were polite and friendly, there were about 30% English the rest Spanish and Italian and every one was also friendly. There was no entertainment in the evenings but the hotel said it does provide in peak season. Within walking distance is the town were there are shops bars cafes and entertainment if you want it, also the beautiful beach where you can have snacks and drinks at reasonable prices . Buses run frequently to Mahon and surrounding areas again reasonable cost and easy to use. The holiday was so good im looking to go back in September and would recommend to anyone wanting to soak up the sun and relax in a beautiful quiet area of Menorca.
