“Great Hotel”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

I stayed here with a party of three couples for seven nights at the end of January 2012. The hotel is spacious and luxurious. Good choice of food in restaurant and bar areas. All staff very courteous and helpful, but also do not bother you and let you enjoy your holiday. Prices of food and drink very reasonable. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The evening entertainment was good fun in the main, apart from an atrocious Latina Trio. My only disappointment was the absence of tea making facilities in our room. All in all I can totally understand why people revisit this hotel.

Room Tip: Most rooms appear to have very good views

As I family we have been on holiday in this hotel six years in a row - we are going this year again making it our 7th time in a row! - I am sorry for the really negative reviews as they are not true - although I know this is a matter of opinion and I really wanted to put my view across.

The hotel is lovely - the staff are friendly - the food is also fantastic. The kitchens are spotless as a friend whom we go with is a top chef by profession and cannot find fault in either the kitchen or the food - they had a complete tour around the kitchen - and it was EXCELLENT!!! - be prepared to put on 1/2 a stone in two weeks!!!

OKAY - rooms could do with a slight update - if you want/expect a FLAT screen TV - but we don't go on holiday for a TV!!!! However, rooms are clean - VERY....

.................just remember this is not a 5 STAR business hotel - get a grip!!

As for the ANTS - these are a species of ants called Pharaoh Ants - they are particularly common in these areas - and - wait for it - you can even get them in the UK!! Yes, the UK!! - the hotel dealt with these "harmless" pests very quickly when we complained - they put a little tube of poison over the room in various "runs" and the ants soon disappeared. We do get them in the UK and this is increasing !!!

Just a quick summary: this is a fantastic hotel for the price - if you want a relaxing holiday, with no loud music - then this is the place for you!! - Also there is a beautiful cocktail bar just along the front next door which has "bed" loungers and what a view! - whether you are celebrating with friends, family or just that "special person".

Anyway enough of my waffle - this is just my opinion and make of it what you will - this hotel definately deserves at least a 4/5 or more EVERY TIME!!:O)

The hotel was spacious, clean and of a good size. Our room in building no. 2 was comfortable, quite large, though not particularly modern. Flowers on balcony, sun in the afternoon. Pleasant partial sea view. The tiled floor always seemed dirty, however. Air conditioning made quite a noise, but didn't seem to work.

Reception, lounge bar, dining room, pools, gardens we were generally pleased with. Food ranged from adequate to very good. On the first day guests are shown to a table but thereafter nobody waits, just seats themselves at the same table. Do not arrive at the dining room for 6 pm though - you will be left waiting for 20 minutes until they open the doors!

Location - a long seafront walk into Playa Blanca. There are a few restaurants near to the hotel and a small shop and a bar across the road opposite, down some steps, but not much else.

Beach towels and bathrobes - pay a 10 euro cash deposit upfront at reception per item. You can get clean beach towels no sooner than every 3 days. No complimentary use of a clothes iron or safe and no tea/coffee making facilities in room. Most of these things have been included as standard in other similar or even lower star rated hotels we have stayed in. Towels on some sunbeds seemed to be a permanent feature with no accompanying bodies in sight throughout the day!

The pianist in the evenings was a nice touch, playing a range from classical to contemporary music and the entertainment, judging from the couple of shows we saw, was okay to good. We also liked the budgies by the pool! The guests we spoke to were very nice and the staff friendly. Just for a week's late getaway it was fine and met expectations for the price we paid, but I wouldn't stay any longer as I think we would be bored.

I have to start by saying weather wasn't great so that you can allow for slightly grumpy attitude! I'm a great believer that nit picking less likely when sun is shining!
As other reviewers have pointed out,the hotel could do with an update. That said it is exceptionally clean. No complaints about food, something for everyone.Wine and drinks generally very expensive. My husband and I enjoyed 2 drinks each before dinner and a bottle of wine with dinner and the cost was around 40 euro per night.
Improvements could be made in the following areas,
The hotel shop doesn't open until 10.30 and stocks 2 English papers.Sold out by 11.00.No magazines.
The common areas need brightened up. Flowers perhaps?
Dining room would be improved if it were brighter with outside seating to enjoy the view.
Better bedding.Very hard beds...
Overall however despite the slightly remote location I would say its a good value option.
With great weather and a few tweeks it could be perfect!

Room Tip: High floors overlooking pools.Suites looked like they had sun loungers and double balcony.

Very good hotel. The room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard. The food was also exceptional and varied; I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. You are a bit remote from the main town (approx 40 mins by foot) but out the front door and over the steps gets you to the shop and sports bar. I new I struck gold when I was one of the youngest at the hotel, and I'm 50.

This was our third visit in as many years and we frequently come across people who have been going for many years. All the good things you hear about this hotel are true. My wife is a coeliac and they have always gone out of their way to ensure that she has been able to dine well. Visitors to the hotel are a mix of European and the food in the restaurant reflects that. I feel sure that most people will find something that is to their liking. For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert area is to die for with plenty of choice but if fruit is your preference, there is ample choice. Breakfast (8am to 10:30am) & dinner (6pm to 9pm) are both buffet style but their is hot food, frequently cooked in front of you.
The entertainment is (a) the piano bar or (b) a live show (except Sunday nights).
For those interested, there are activities within the hotel grounds during the day. Table tennis, crazy golf, tennis etc. This for adults during term time and for children during the school holidays. Even when full, we have never seen the poolside area so busy that there is no room.
The hotel is situated on the coastal path that leads into the port of Playa Blanca (for ferries to Fuertaventura etc) and then on to the town of Playa Blanca followed by the Rubicon Marina, where there is a market every Wednesday and Saturday. The marina is about a 1hr+ steady to brisk walk from the hotel. Alternatively, you can catch a bus not far from the hotel which goes past these aforementioned places. So if the walk to the marina is tiring, you can get the bus back. (Cost- a flat rate 1.20 euros - as at 29/01/12)
For the more adventurous, you can hire mountain bikes nearby or you can climb the volcano behind the hotel.
Because this hotel is in constant use, it does, in one or two areas, show some signs of age. However, this does not detract from the overall feel and ambiance of the place. Will we go back? Quite likely.
We have never taken the opportunity to visit the spa facilities, so maybe next time?

Room Tip: It's not easy to chose specific rooms in this hotel as it is almost always full and rooms are al...

We have just returned from our first visit to the Natura Palace, and were very pleased indeed with the high standards in this hotel. Food, rooms, staff and facilities are all worthy of the ratings
we have given. Unfortunately the weather was not all that we had hoped for, nevertheless, we were able to enjoy the hotel gardens and surroundings, and walk the length of the promenade
during the grey/breezy days. The only disappointment of our holiday was that we chose to pay 40 Euros each to visit the evening "comedy/drag" show at the Music Hall Tavern in Puerto del Carmen. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
