We always try to avoid eating in places which are crowded, especially shopping centers. However being in the Centre comercial Gran Jonquera to do some Christmas shopping we had no choice. Luckily we were with friends who had frequently eaten at La Tagliatella and who assured us that we would not be disappointed. Well if you do not have the appetite of an ogre do not attempt to order a plate of pasta or even a salad for you alone! In fact this very good and very reasonably priced Italian restaurant (part of a chain) even encourages couples to share a salad and then share a dish of pasta or a pizza. The choice is enormous and we were brought four empty plates and then two different salads of our choice and followed this with two different plates of pasta. Absolutely delicious and served by the most charming personnel that we have seen in some time despite the very nice waitpersons we have encountered over the past couple of years. The restaurant is reminiscent of a French brasserie of the beginning of the 20th century and the table cloths and serviettes are good quality cotton which is something you won’t find in many places in this price range. The restrooms are impeccable and even though the noise level is high (the place seating over a hundred and costumers queuing up waiting for tables) somehow the acoustics are such that it is perfectly possible to hold a discussion without having to raise one’s voice.
