we had a wonderful stay, people were kind, room was perfect, and the dinners were super. we hope to come back. the area is beautiful. it is a nice area for walking, cycling, visiting villages, etc. this hotel is near the German border, so it is very easy to make trips to Germany.

Room Tip: our room was first floor, we do not know about the other rooms

Hotel "Hof Van Twente" is situated right in the center of the village Hengevelde, next to the church and opposite the graveyard. Public parking is sometimes possible in front of the hotel, (if you are in luck), but opposite the hotel, to the left and to the right of the graveyard, sufficient parking spaces are available. The hotel is run by the well known Pierik family and includes also a good restaurant (see my review) The reception counter is almost always closed, so checking in and checking out is done at the bar in the restaurant. The staff is a bit aloof, but polite and efficient. The hotel rooms are located mostly on the first floor, some rooms are on ground level; you can only reach the rooms on the first floor by a staircase, so for people with a physical limitation, a ground floor room is the solution. Our room was small, but very clean with a excellent bed and air-conditioning, very welcome because it was a hot summer day. The bathroom is clean and efficient, only the porcelain of the toilet bowl was discolored by rust from the water pipe, but again, all bathroom equipment was squeaky clean. As the hotel is positioned in the three star bracket, there was no fridge and coffee/tea making facilities in the room, and limited space for hanging out clothes. But free in-room wi-fi was offered, a pleasant surprise. Generally speaking, this hotel surpasses expectations and can be recommended freely.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front may have some trouble with noise of the heavy traffic passing through the village.
