We stayed 4 nights in a Generous Seaview room with a spectacular view. The hotel is wonderfully renovated. Pricey, though. Very nicely furnished and comfortable room.
Large underground parking lot with lifts, very convenient.
We had dinner twice at Le Sommet. It was delicious and very enjoyable but overpriced. We had dinner once at the Brasserie, good food. The staff is friendly but not very focused on service, probably due to the fact that there are many young trainees.
Everything was well organized in spite of the covid restrictions.
Breakfast and dinner slots were a good idea. However, breakfast was not well managed as the staff did not communicate well with each other and with customers. Travelling often in USA we are familiar with hostesses seating you at your table. See my comment about this hereunder.
Overall we enjoyed very much our stay, it was very relaxing in a beautiful and comfortable hotel, perfect location.
However, there is a big minus point and this is why I give only 3 stars. Customers should not be treated this way.
A very unpleasant and uncomfortable incident happened at breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. The evening before we had asked the staff if we could reserve a table in the “private” room for breakfast, if possible. They made a note of our request. Our breakfast slot was at 10 AM, we arrived well on time and joined the queue. When we got to the desk at the entrance of the breakfast restaurant, we gave our name and room number to the friendly young hostess. Right away, she said she was going to look if there was a table available in the private room. Suddenly her colleague, an older waitress, got angry at us (!) and said it was not possible to make table reservations for breakfast. We were not aware of this. Very embarrassed, the younger waitress took us to a table which she thought was free but it was already taken, there was a handbag and a coat on the chairs. Since there was no other table available she took us back at the front desk and asked us to wait until a table would get free. It was not a problem to us. In an angry way (again), the old waitress loudly told us that we could not wait by the desk and had to go all the way back in line ! We did not agree since it was not logical at all but, since we did not want to argue like her, we went back in line for the second time. It ended up that all the people who originally were queuing behind us ended up being seated before us, about 10 people !
The young waitress looked very embarrassed, so were we… This incident made us feel extremely uncomfortable, as if we had done something wrong.
This situation reminded me of a similar experience we had with the very same waitress last time we stayed here two years ago.
