5 minutes from the airport this resort has something for everyone. We would rate the resort with 5 stars+. Excellent food offered and a variety we have never seen on any of the previous resorts we have visited in the Caribbean. We stayed in the Splash area and kids loved the pools, slides, candy floss, popcorn - no need to visit the kids club on this resort. Spa treatments in luxury environment. Thanks to Graham at Elegant Travel and Tours in London who yet again provided the arrangements for our Summer holiday. Great service offered - as always.

We stayed at Coconut Bay Beach Resort in St. Lucia in May, 2012. It was our first time to the island. We did travel with our 20 month old daughter. There are two sides to this property. One is a family area and the other is an adults only. I did travel over to the adults only side twice during walks and there was not tremendous different except for the obvious of no noise and nice lounge chairs directly overlooking the beach. The hotel does a nice job with blending adults with the families.

The family side is a four story building. The bottom floors walk directly out to the grounds and the pool is about 150 yards from the hotel building. The kids pool (or family pool) is one of the best since it has a beach edge which gradually gets deeper into the center which has a large fountain with clover like shallow areas around it. This seems to be a popular spot with the kids. My daughter loved to get in her tube and swim to the fountain and then she was able to get out on her own and walk around. The best part about the family pool is that there is a swim up pool bar! Who ever came up with that one was brilliant. I was able to have her float over to the bar under the waterfall and get drinks for ourselves. This become a favorite for her as well to "make the trek under the waterfall". There were so many kids there during the 8 days we were there and everyone brought toys and shared rather well. It was really nice to have the kids play together.

The best thing about this resort is the amenities that they have for kids! Hands down the best I have seen. The large water slide was my an absolute favorite. My daughter loved this and went on it 20 times the first day and countless times each day after that. (Take a waterproof camera for amazing pictures!) There was a "dark tube" slide that went under the ground and was very fast. Its a must for adults and older children but certainly not for any children my daughters age. The lazy river stretches around another small pool and near the larger waterslides and it very slow but a nice change of pace. The kids club is adorable and they do a fantastic job with keeping the kids busy. I saw them taking older kids on a scavenger hunt, a movie night, they made tied dyed shirts, took them for ice cream, etc.. The club has what looked like round the clock babysitters and they have their own little water park confined outside which comes on a few times per day, plenty of bikes, scooters, tricycles, slides, giant boat for climbing and adventures, computers, books, and a huge play area inside. They have really thought of everything to entertain kids. We were under the impression that the child needed to be 2years old and only found out the day before we left they will take them younger. Would highly recommend them as the staff is 5star and we saw them interacting with the kids often and would feel very comfortable in leaving our daughter with them for a few hours.

The dinners for families were always scheduled earlier so from what I saw I dont think they interfere with any adults unless they are eating early. The night club and lounge upstairs do not allow children after 8pm so it seems to work. Food was good. Speciality restaurants I thought were decent and believe it or not, the buffet was rather good too. (I am not a buffet person at all) They did have theme nights two of the night we were there and it was a bit loud when were were putting her to sleep since the theme nights take place on the outdoor stage in front of the family section. But the noise was not anything so terrible. They also had an adorable market in which local crafters came to sell things right at the property and live music every night.

As for the island, we unfortunately did not explore any of it. (Which is completely rare for us but hard to do when she naps 2 hours in the middle of the day) Next time. As for the beach at the hotel, it was not a nice beach. A LOT of seaweed. In fact, we received a letter (which looked like alot like a form letter) telling us that they were experiencing a high volume of seaweed and were "bringing in heavy equipment" to help them remove it. It was certainly not an area I wanted to swim in. But I do have to say that we travel alot and most properties that are on not of the typical stretch of hotels, the beach tends to be below average. We didnt mind since she enjoyed herself in the pool.

If you are looking for a great place to be with family and activities for kids to do this is the place. The only negative we would have would be the lack of choices for hotel rooms. You are able to have a standard hotel room or a two bedroom which is basically two rooms with an adjoining door. It would have been really nice to have a one bedroom choice with a separate bedroom. The 4th floor rooms have vaulted ceilings which make it feel very spacious. The bottom floor would have made life easy with going in and out of the room but enjoyed the 4th floor.

You ABSOLUTELY MUST BRING A CONVERTER for electrical. We needed one for the video monitor for our daughter and the hotel and gift shop were out of them. If I would have know this I would have brought my own. It was frustrating to not have this but on the second day we figured out the the plug in the bathroom on the hairdryer box fit american plugs and the cord to the monitor did reach into the other room. I brought a stick on hook to attach and easily remove from the door/wall to get the best angle for the camera. So we made it work but would recommend bringing one so you can charge/use whatever you desire.

Room Tip: Bottom floor great access in and out (request in advance) & 4th floor has vaulted rooms

We stayed for 6 days and the reception was exceptional. Champagne on arrival, with lots of smiles and a very warm welcome, especially from Laneeta at the front desk! The rooms were very good, clean and comfortable. We headed to the pool on our first morning and Fatta was the extremely friendly, capable and efficient pool barman. The paint ball was the next stop and Damus treated my husband and kids so well that they re-booked for a second rounds of this exciting activity. The grill bar was impressive, with Lee providing great service with a friendly smile at all times. The entertainment crew (can't remember their names) were very versatile and organised. The "Trinis" ran the show once soca was on the airwaves. Our one little encounter with bad service was smoothed over by the brand new Mr. Goldstein with Champagne in our room. It was much appreciated. My daughter had a little mishap at the pool, but we were well treated and soothed by Ernie Charles, the chief of security. Thank you so much for your support. We will endeavor to revisit this resort, especially for the friendly service!

This was our second trip to C/Bay having visited same time last year (1st two weeks of July). We have never re-visited the same resort again so we a little anxious however we neednt have been. It was just as good as last year!

There have been a few changes since last year for the better. The rooms have been recently painted and new furnishings. Fridges have been added with bottled water being left every day.A floating rest (dont know proper name!) was permanently in sea to swim out to for sunbathing. The paintball was up and running which pleased by 12 year old son! The kids club has also been painted and refurbished. Ice cream has been added to the buffet. Candy floss now in addition to the popcorn always available. Cocktail of the day which pleased mum!

Our 3 year old daughter went to the kids club many times and loved it. Eulia was great with her and a big thank you goes to her. The others in the kids club also deserve a mention as they went all out for the Carnival decking each kid out with a costume and compulsory glitter! The craft activities and splash time were a hit! She will treasure her albumn for a long time to come.

Severa at the Grill was again fantastic and deserves a big thank you. My daughter was so looking forward to seeing her again and enjoyed her hotdogs and chicken nuggets!

We would like to thank everyone for another fantastic holiday! Please pass on our thanks.

Just got back and already can't wait to return. Although we have stayed at more "high end" resorts, Coconut Bay does not disappoint. The resort is just a few short minutes from the airport, which means you can start the vacation that much sooner. Upon arrival, we were given welcome drinks and cold towels by the friendly staff. Our room was a bit outdated, but clean. We stayed on the adult side, as both our children are over 18, and it was very quiet with a lovely ocean view. The dining at this resort is an extremely good value. The buffet offers a variety of choices, and all were delicious. The speciality restaurants were very good....our favorite was Calabash!! We enjoyed the beach, but wish it was alittle larger. We were warned upon check in that the seaweed was a problem, but honestly it was only bad the first day...after that, none of us minded it at all. If were weren't on the beach, we were in one of the many pools. There are always plenty of lounge chairs to find whether you want to be in sun or shade. The staff is really the best part of the resort...they do everything to make your stay pleasant and they always are smiling or have a kind word. We need to mention a few of the staff that went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable....Mary in the buffet restaurant, who found my husband some yogurt when the buffet was closed and he was craving it; Jade in Peter John's Lounge who made the best and most artistic Dirty Banana drinks; Kay in the swim up bar who was so sweet and accomodating; and Ritney on the entertainment crew, whose energy and awesome personality was unparalled. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at Coconut Bay, and will certainly return in the future!

We stayed for 10 nights reurning 17th Jully. Shortest transfer ever, but very little aircraft noise only take offs in the afternoon. Food great, interesting variety and quality was excellent, the three a la carte restaurants make a change from the buffet. (SIlks by far our favourite). Staff are fantastic, special mentions have to go to Mac, Kay, Fatta, Mitch (best dirty bananas by far!) Melton and of course to Big Ted for his "singing". Mary is a treasure at breakfast time eggs any way you want them really. Staff give their all to ensure evening entertainment was enjoyable for all. Lots of reviews are critical of the rooms, they could be more luxurious but hey we just slept in ours and the beds were really comfortable so what more can you ask for! Housekeeping were fab and if you left any notes all were dealt with immediately. We did a variety of trips - shopping in Castries/Rodney bay. Zip liningi the rain forest and a land and sea cruise to take in the Pitons, the volcano, waterfalls, botanic gardens and Marigot Bay and horse riding down the beach! The resort spray for mosquitoes every evening - how fantastic the only bites we received were on trips out of the hotel! In short a relaxing, revitalising trip - would recommend as value for money.

We stayed for 10 nights returning 19/07/12, hotel transfer times were 5 mins, on approach hotel looks fab, reception staff greeted us politely had cold towels and rum punch on arrival. Room wasn't ready but we didn't mind as we knew check in was 3p.m. Was a lot smaller than what the site pictures made it out to be, but everything was close by which was a bonus.
1st minus- room was booked via Thomson for 3 of us but they only had 2 of us on booking hence room was not made up 4 3rd adult, when we opened out the sofa bed it was full of bugs and had been there at least a few years and very musty smelling, room overall was tired and old and very basic with the flat screen tv been the only new thing in there. The drawers of the tv unit were broken so we could not utilise them, wardrobe had little ant like bugs crawling at the bottom so had 2 leave clothes in suitcase, when we complained we were told they were fully booked and could not offer another room or bed (as we had asked for 2 queen beds on booking), after we started asking for managers and tour rep they managed to find us a bed which was then delivered and made up a few hours later, which we were happy with.
Food was hit and miss, there is no fancy displays and live cooking every night, they do try to vary the nights, puddings were repetitive and some days they served outside, there was always something you could have even if you made up a sandwich, but if you want 5* dining you will be disappointed, we treated the hotel as a 3* and weren't disappointed.
There is a spa you can book, very expensive but aint they all when they go on holiday! had 2 treatments and staff were good at what they do, you can always get an appointment same day.
Tour rep showed us a few trips available and we decided on his recommendation to hire a driver with another family and did a island tour, we visited the mountains, pitons, waterfalls, gardens and walk through volcano and even did rodney bay in one day, well worth it but then you have nothing to do for the rest of the stay!
Cocktail at the bar never tasted the same unless the same bar attendant made them and sometimes my drink tasted like my husband and sons even though we had different cocktails, Jade, Bid Ted and Hidi all made fab cocktails we learnt after day 2 just to ask for their special and weren't disappointed, one thing we noticed was you can drink cocktails all day and still not be drunk by evening amazing we thought looking around at peoples stamina but it may be to do with the lack of alcohol in them?
There was a gym and spa but nothing else on site to do. Evening entertainment was a one man band some evenings, a very hard working band some nights, we noticed that after dinner many people had a few cocktails then went to their rooms by 10 p.m. Some nights there was a disco but nothing to stay up late for.
We never seen entertainment team go around the pool side advertising any activities for the day, there was a board with daily activities and it is left up 2 u to have a look and find them.
We would not go back as we like to visit different places, but if you are looking for a 4/5* hotel you will be disappointed.
Weather always says it is rain but we only got a few showers 2 days and they were gone within minutes, dont let that put you off as even in overcast weather you still will get sunburned!!
The hotel are upgrading some rooms on Harmony side and if you are fortunate to get 1 you will enjoy your break.
Reception staff in day are fab and very attentive but late evening and early morning 1's are hit and miss.
Housekeeper was lovely, rooms were made up and towels changed no problems.
The hotel dont send u cards or make a fuss if you are celebrating anniversary or weddings, we heard a few guests complain about that, if it's your birthday you can order a cake and they will sing happy birthday to you in main dining area but that's about all unless you book the actual wedding there!! not even swan made up towels!
Free Internet cafe and wifi which is a bonus and never that busy so you could access the Internet, small shop upstairs which is quite expensive but does stock essentials.
Water at bar is $2 which was bizarre for an all inclusive hotel! But if you keep the bottles that are in your room and fill them up at the water station at reception and the bar grill you avoid paying, also ask the maid to top up your fridge so you have a constant supply of water.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room.
