We loved the Master Suite, it had a gorgeous view of the pool. Great breakfast, we ordered "Huevos Rancheros" and the staff is always willing to help with a great smile :) We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful getaway at L'acqua Viva Resort, a little off the beaten path but well worth the trip, beautiful people, delicious food, lovely rooms. I enjoyed my accommodations very much, the pools, the beaches, canopy (ziplining), eco-friendly grounds, friendly staff.

We stayed here at the recommendation of another smaller property owner. The facility was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and met our needs. We got the last room at the budget end of the spectrum and found the room itself to be very accommodating. Getting the last room the location was close to the road and a bit noisy on the balcony but still a nice stay. With the mandatory tax our room was $176.00 per night (and remember this was the low end room price). The place seemed to have many vacancies so I can only surmise this is due to the higher rates for the area. Suites and larger rooms started at $250.00 prior to the addition of the 23% mandatory tax. While the pools and facilities are very inviting, I could not see a reason to pay that much for this place. So yes, I would recommend this as a nice place to stay near Nosara, but think they are a bit pricey for what you get.

Room Tip: Choose a room or suite away from the road which is literally at balcony level on some of the back rooms.

This place was a ghost of the "resort" they clan to be. I booked this place for my honeymoon. I wanted to have an "authentic Costa Rican" experience. No bougie American resort for us! Well, that's what I thought! This place was horrible from beginning to end. A true tourist trap! This is a place you can get stuck in for days and can't pay yourself out of. This place claims to be a romantic "adults only" getaway but the plastic play pen people have in their backyard, resides in the one and only restaurant at this place. No joke, I took photos because I didn't think anyone would believe me. That's nothing compared to the fact that they claim to be a resort and spa which they are not at all! No operational spa, gym, or any facilities of any sorts are a subtle at this "resort" in a year, nor do they have any common "resort" amenities most travelers would expect. It's an overpriced motel with out any amenities, customer service, or safety. We had a 200 foot tree collapse on the lobby and restaurant in front of us and no one addressed any safety concerns, even though guests had to climb over the tree to check in!! It's a 30 min hike to the beach where you will need a dust cloth to cover your eyes and mouth to get by the dust and dirt kicked up by the trucks and quads that whiz by you if you decide to walk. Otherwise you trust your life and safety to the random toktok (riksha) drivers that the hotel calls in off the major road. This place was the worst part of our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We checked out as soon as we could and had a heavenly stay at the JW Marriott just north of this horrible sinkhole of a hotel.

My husband and 6 year old daughter stayed here for 8 days in April 2015 and had a lovely time. We upgraded our standard room to a Junior suite and our Jr. Suite was spacious and open, allowing us to enjoy the wild life outside our window. We saw howler monkeys, a woodpecker family and several small bats. It is true that the roads to Nosara are dusty, and bumpy, but it IS worth it to get to this areaand the two lovely beaches: Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada. Manuel, the manager met us when we arrived and was helpful and friendly throughout our stay, as was the wait staff. They gave us a beach umbrella and set up a surfboard SUP (stand up paddle) river tour, which was an adventure. Come here if you want to relax, the pools are good and it never feels crowded. This hotel was definitely a splurge for us, but it was so worth it. I'd go back to L'Acqua Viva Resort and Spa.
