One of the oldest hotel and restaurant in town. Famous for its cassoulet. Rooms are clean and properly decorated. They are air conditioned, which is a great plus in that region. Restaurant is probably the best quality over price in town. Don't forget to buy a can of home-made cassoulet and its cooking dish as a souvenir.

We arrived in Castlenaudry at about 7pm on a Thursday in October and had hoped to find a Chambre d'hote, but had really arrived too late, so we found this hotel after going to one which was full. We were just pleased to be able to get a bed for the night. The lady on reception was very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, but very dated and tired and we could not get the shower over the bath to run very hot. However it was quiet and the bed was comfortable so we got a good nights sleep. For an extra 5 euros we were also able to park the car in the hotel garage which was good. Breakfast was a bit lacklustre, but it was good to be able to have a cup of tea. There was a bit of French bread (not the best and we normally adore French bread), some mini croissants, a bit of yoghurt and cake. It was enough though, plus the overall cost of the stay was not too high, although we stayed in some lovely other places which cost less. As I say though it was clean and we needed a bed at short notice so really no reason to complain. It did what we needed.

I really wanted to like this hotel as i try to favour independent hotels over soulless chain motels, but the hotel is dirty, our room smells, the air con only works intermittently, there is no lift and the staff are completely indifferent to the hotel guests.
the free wifi is not secure and service limited.
The hotel's main business is the restaurant the rooms are old and neglected.
If you do have to stay here don't use the hotel's car park you can get blocked in for hours and the manager does not give a dam if you are English -you can do a lot better for the price.,

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

The Hotel has a garage, which is a real plus when traveling with lots of luggage on board. It is easily found and has a great restaurant specialising in the local dish 'cassoulet.' The rooms are basic but clean and servicable - don't come her to experience luxury (or air-con) but do visit for friendly welcomeing staff and gret local cuisine. TIP don't buy bottled wine, opt for a pichet of the local red. At 6.50 euros it's perfect to cut the richness of the duck (cooked three ways) or the cassoulet.Happy days.

Room Tip: Mmmmm. Try for room 3

the rooms are a bit dated, but its a very friendly little hotel in the centre of town bed was comfy and the room warm. its not some plastic chain hotel and its not perfect but it is full of character and has a charm lacking in more modern hotels . we had a room front of hotel with nice modern shower. the main reason for being here is the food , very large portions of top quality home made food. if its good enough for rick stein its good enough for me

Room Tip: good secure parking
