Fantastic break in Milford. Arrived on 15th for 3 day break. The house was very comfortable for the nine of us. Everything in the house that we required for our family reunion.
We loved the glowing fire from the stove in the dark evenings, was great to relax and put the feet up. John supplied us with plenty of turf and logs while Dolores supplied the delicious home made wheaten bread. We are already planning our next visit back to this lovely house.
Having travelled to donegal for the first time we wanted a weeks trip to remember which we certainly got. On arrival to willows farmhouse we were made very welcome by John & dolores who kindly gave us a briefing of the holiday house itself followed by a list of endless places to go. Being quite an active couple we went to these places suggested by the host's which was much to our standards. These included visiting glenveagh national park to climbing up mount errigal & to top things off, the beaches in the surrounding areas were simply stunning. On the other hand the local village named Milford offered great places to eat & drink such as the travellers inn & the mulroy woods restaurant. Willows farmhouse is a 5 minute drive from Milford which is set in the countryside. It offered us all the comforts of home followed by the useful amenities required. Big cosey house & beautifully finished. Would like to thank John & Dolores for there local knowledge that was put across to us & the free range eggs that we hand picked ourselves. Will definitely be back in the not so distant future. We all had a great time!
House was cold on the first night. There was an excessive charge for utilities.
Ground floor bedroom on-suite had mildew.
We loved the whole experience .... beautiful inviting cottage. John and Dolores went beyond the call of duty as hosts. So glad we got to know them and their son. Great music and camaraderie with John and his son at the local pub....the view, the donkeys, the rooms...all gave us so much pleasure! Our week there was definitely a highlight of our Irish experience....
Thanks John & Dolores for the usual brilliant (4th or 5th? ) time.
Weather,house,beach,donkeys all superb.
See ya next year please God.
Tom,Liz & family.
Myself and four colleagues had been working in Belfast and then were due to work in Dublin the following weekend.
So instead of traveling back to the UK we decided to stay over in Ireland for the four days between the jobs.
My colleague had been looking at this place and a few others and we all decided on this one as the pictures looked good and it was in an area that we hadn't visited before.
My colleague made the booking so can't really comment on the price however for what we got it was amazing and I'd be happy to pay to visit again.
It was only a couple of hours drive from Belfast so we were able to fit in some touristy things on the way. There was no real set time to meet the owner and we arranged early evening.
On arrival in the small town of Milford we weren't too sure of the direction to go so my colleague rang the owner who was happy to drive to where we were and then let us follow her to the property.
If you're wanting some peace and quiet then this is the place for you, it is down this single track country lane while then completely disappeared off of my sat nav.
The house is amazing, my colleague said that I was saying wow for about 30 minutes after arrival.
It's huge, has a huge gravel driveway which can fit multiple cars.
There are five bedrooms and one of them is on the ground floor which was ideal for me. There is a decent sized kitchen with all the amenities, a really nice living room that has a log burning fire and a huge living room/dining room which also has a pool table.
The view from the house is absolutely stunning.
There are also two donkeys that live on the grounds too. Just remember not to touch the electric fence. (one of my colleagues forgot)
We ( Four 60+ ould golfers) spent a few days participating in The Donegal Links Golf Compt & stayed in Willowfarmhouse . Everything was excellent from a) the present of brown bread & eggs to b) the beautiful house with Wifi to c) Lovely Guinness & Music in Milford..... . Pity our golf didn't match, but then one can't have everything.
