On our last night in Italy after a 3 week trip, we stayed in Fiumicino because we had an early morning flight out of Rome. We knew nothing of the area so we asked some local fishermen for a recommendation and they suggested the restaurant attached to the La Torre del Moro hotel. It was off the beaten path-the menu had no English translations and the waiter spoke no English. However, we were taken very well care of and ate and ate and ate whatever he brought out for us and it was divine! Super fresh seafood cooked in a variety of ways. We were in heaven! Wine, dinner, dessert, dessert wine, and coffee for the 2 of us came to a total of 40 Euros. Including tip! I loved eating among all the locals - didn't hear a word of English there! Highly highly recommend!!

Helpful and nice staff. About 5km from Fiumicino Airport but there are taxis and buses. Room was very spacious, bathroom quite clean. Breakfast was included in the room price. Very close to the beach, quiet neighbourhood. Good price.

Be warned. While the hotel is reasonably priced and close to the airport, the standard taxi fare is 20 Euros each way, so add 40 Euros to the cost of the hotel as against one that offers transfers from the airport. That said, our room was basic but clean, and the beds were comfortable. There was a/c, tv, and all the usual amenities. Continental breakfast was generous. The staff were especially helpful, keeping reception open for us when we arrived late. An inexpensive option for an overnight stay near the airport.

This hotel deserves more than 2 stars. I would not normally have booked a 2 star in Rome from previous experience.
There should be a category for small owner operated hotels like this one.
When travelling I am always looking for clean, quiet hotels with pleasant staff, flexible hours and attitudes and a no smoking policy. I got all this and more. A great restaurant on site with many more an easy walk. The owner and his staff were more than pleasant! Breakfast was continental with a very good cup of real coffee! It does not have an elevator and I suspect the people that are turned off due to this are the same people who want mounds of bacon and eggs and waffles. For me this was great value. 15 euros is the fixed taxi price from the airport. Most shuttles will charge 6 or more per person. So my son and I shared a cab and the cost wasnt much different, with the added bonus of being able to leave with a taxi we didnt miss the shuttle!

This small hotel is a local popular restaurant in the area but also a great pit stop to the airport.
We chose it for this reason - late night arrival, close to airport, off street parking. It worked for us just fine - and was clean, tidy and quiet. So good after a long flight. Really reasonable rates.

At €69 for bed and breakfast, it's hard to complain about a clean room in a convenient location. It's easy access to the airport and a pleasant stroll to the main canal-side area with plenty of very good restaurants, bars etc. The room was a good size. The 'matrimoniale' bed was, as more often than not, two mattresses together on a double base - unfortunately, the mattresses didn't quite meet so the experience was not as comfortable as it should have been. The bathroom was a good size and the shower worked well- the water was hot. The wattage in the main bedroom light was very low so the room was rather dark, especially if you did not want to leave the shutters open. The breakfast was acceptable. The staff were friendly. There is a restaurant attached that offers a discount to those staying - we didn't try it so cannot comment.

Nice and cosy hotel serving good breakfast. Very nice and helpful staff. Only a short walk from the Fiumicino center and about 10 minutes ride from the airport. The owner called us a taxi and was really trying to make our short stay as good as possible.
