Sadly Katikati heritage Museum has closed at it's original venue, but it is to reopen at a new site very soon. The old Fire Station in the middle of Katikati has had a revamp and we will be glad to see it in operation once again. This is an interesting place to visit if you like history, they also have very good displays

This wonderful museum has now closed but it will be reopening soon in the middle of katikati.
The old fire station is being revamped and it will soon be ready to show off it's historical past.I hope they have their cafe attached as it was nice to visit for a coffee.
So see you soon at this venue

Unfortunately, this excellent museum had to close in 2014. Everything is in storage until the old fire station has been upgraded to earthquake standard, when the museum will take over that building until a permanent home can be found for it. Hopefully, the museum will be able to use the old fire station at some point this year.

This unique local museum unfortunately had to close at the beginning of 2014. All artifacts are in the process of being archived until such time as another venue can be designated. This will be a turning point for this museum and it is in good hands for the future. So fingers crossed for its survival.
