We are staying in a two bedroom family unit. Lots of space for four of us. The owners are so helpful and friendly. Free wi-fi, free use of bicycles, DVDs, scooters and tennis racquets. Lovely pool and tennis court. Also free rollaway bed if required. Close walk to shops and restaurants. Will stay again

After a full month touring New Zealand, this was the friendliest of all welcomes we received, everything on site was explained and complimentary including the use of bikes. They were also very helpful on ideas for visiting on the Coromandel. It's in a quiet area close to the beach and the lodges were very pleasant.

These rooms are more liked ski chalets. Its all neat and tidy and big enough. They are semi detached and effectively pine chalets, so you hear everything next door. Location is perfect and stunning but beware there is little in Pauanui. There are few restaurants and one closes Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. So bring food and wine with you as there are cooking facilities.

This is our first time and first stop in New Zealand. The accommodation is clean and well presented, with everything you need when you arrive. We arrived late after a very long journey and we received a warm welcome and generous hospitality that quickly made us relax and enjoy staying at such a lovely place.

Pauanui Pines Motor Lodge is in a great location. Like all of Coromandel it is very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful beach within walking distance. Owners are friendly and helpful and lodges are clean and equipped with hob and microwave for very simple meals. The only drawback is that there are very few places to eat locally without driving and when we were there the local restaurant was shut, so not ideal if you're touring and only staying a couple of days before moving on, because you don't want to be buying things like salt, butter etc if it's going to go to waste. Wifi access was provided but kept dropping out, so got frustrating very quickly.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and were very impressed with this facility. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortably furnished. Everything is spotlessly clean and the outlook is nice, particularly the units looking over the golf course. There is a tennis court and swimming pool onsite and it is only a two minute stroll to the shops and cafes.
Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable rates. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms closest to the golf course have less early morning road noise issues.

As many a review has said before, the accommodation is spotless, everything works, and the whole operation is presided over by Jan, a more welcoming and friendly soul you couldn't wish to find. Yes, the wooden chalet style cabins may be a bit dated (no a/c so look out for the odd mossie), but it's still a nice quiet place to stay.......But, Pauanui! What can one say? I'll give it a go. It's a purpose built self catering holiday home town, with a pub/ restaurant and a takeaway bar which sells the usual fair, burgers fish and chips. Err, that's it. On our visit the pub restaurant was fully booked, so no food for the casual punter. So....takeaway. Each order, large or small done in strict rotation. That meant an hour long wait. Fast food it ain't, but it tasted okay. All in all a place well worth not bothering with. There have to be other places in the Coromandel Peninsula which serve the traveller better than this. Mind you, if you have a light aircraft look no further: an airstrip bisects the town. Honestly.

Room Tip: Don't go to Pauanui!
