This is one of the most quietest places i have been.
Our trip started dreafully with a miscomunication with the hire car so buses had to be booked.
With all accommodation paid for we had to by bus tickets.
Pauanuia doesnt have buses running only 1 at 7am.
Our outstanding host dave came out of his way to pick us up and then took us on a tour of this fabulous place.
We were then greeted by his loverly wife julie.

I highly recommend staying at Pauanui Pines as the rooms are clean and have a lot of space also the service here was top notch. The owner was nice enough to let our small dog stay also and we felt at home here. I must also mention it was the first time that I have ever seen a information booklet that had so many free things in it. For example if you want to use a bike or clean your boat or even use a rice cooker its all free. This shows me that they are real quality people and we will be back to stay in a flash.

So really didn't know what to expect. The rooms are semi-detached prefab chalets. Clean and functional with everything you need for a short self catering break - albeit a little worn and dated. My only gripe would be the bedroom didn't have a heater so was cold and the air slightly damp. I should imagine this is a great little low cost retreat for two during the summer but I wouldn't recommend it during the winter months if you feel the cold.

We stopped here for one night. The couple managing the rooms were extremely friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and had full facilities in excellent condition. The internet was free and there are laundry machines in an on-site washroom.

Overall very pleased.

Room Tip: All the rooms are in a quiet part of the general location and so no special issues to be aware of.

We stayed here for 2 nights this week whilst doing a whistle stop tour of northern NZ. The accommodation was superb, providing everything we could have needed and more. The site is airless and the hosts really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this site to anyone
