We have eaten here 3 times now and have enjoyed every meal immensely! The owners have a German and French background. They are both terrific individuals who are certainly there to please.
We have tried all of the appetizers (our favorite being the pate) and every entree (favorite being the tenderloin) and the desserts (all are fantastic)
You cannot go wrong at this place. Very inexpensive for the exquisite dinner you will have.
Call for a reservation and write down the address as cabs have a hard time finding it. They will call a taxi service for you at the end of the night.
Bring bug spray as the mosquitoes tend to be bothersome in the evening.
I hope you enjoy this lovely little gem of a place as much as we have. Have fun!

Great food and service! The cocktails were spot on and the starters especially the Pate was divine. The seafood soup was wonderful as well as the fish dish. Good selection of wine. thank you for a wonderful evening with friends!

Wanted to try this restaurant for several years so it was on our "must do" this year. We were ready to experience a top notch french restaurant.

The food was Ok but lacked seasoning. Found ourselves adding salt for flavor.

Charming atmosphere and good service. Owner was pleasant.

the setting was very pleasant on an outside veranda. the greeting and service were warm and attentive. the menu, while limited, offered a good selection. there were four of us and we all enjoyed everything we ate. we shared an appetizer and a dessert, pate and profiteroles, and had four different entrees. all very very good. the price was high for bucerias, but cheap for the same meal back in the states. i plan to return on future visits to bucerias.

I would like to start my review with a link to a story that I hope puts things in some perspective for some: "It's just dinner"

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/features/restaurant-reviews-have-we-become-a-bit-precious-about-describing-flavours-and-textures-10052426.html

Le Provence offers a warm family environment with good, homey food at a GREAT value.
Having lived in Puerto Vallarta for eight years, we certainly did not expect a five star Le Bernardin dining experience at the cost of $40 per person (including a %30 tip, as we loved the service), nor to be able to bring several bottles of wine at a VERY reasonable corkage fee.

What we did expect was what we received, a delicious pate duo, escargot, & goat cheese salad starters. Followed by the house interpretation of bouillabaisse, which the menu clearly stated was served in a flavorful bisque (not every chef makes every dish exactly the same - there are interpretations) with fish cooked perfectly, not too done, and large shrimp, TWO orders of cassoulet, and a Beef Bourguignon that was wiped clean with the homemade bread before the dish was taken away.
I was happy there were cassoulet beans left over to take home, as I had them for breakfast, which was a soon as I could eat them, being so full after dinner.
The classic tarte tatin and profiteroles rounded out the meal.

To be included in a negative review by someone else, using the word "We" is a misrepresentation, as everyone has their own opinion, and myself and my husband enjoyed our dinner, and look forward to returning to Le Provence.
We may not have owned (past tense? what happened?) a top rated bistro in Connecticut, but we did open and work at several top rated restaurants in San Francisco (which ARE still open), which is regarded by most as a world class dining city.

If you would like a nice home cooked French meal, Le Provence is the place!

thank you very much for clarifying the earlier review from this very arrogant person who doesn't know anything about french food at all,We are happy that you enjoyed your meal and the service and you are always welcome in our restaurant.
