My gf and I stayed here for 4 days before heading towards Dominica.
Checking in:
- The checking in went very smoothly, and afterwards we got a explanation about the keys for the fence around the hotel, the locker, and the room.
Room:
- During the small walk to our room we noticed that the surrounding area is beautiful.
We had a quick tour of our room. The room has a large fridge/freezer combination, kettle, coffee maker, and a cooking area/kitchenette. In the fridge was a fresh welcoming punch and cold water.
The A/C only work from 6 PM till 8 AM (if I’m right). This was fine for us. You shouldn’t worry about the heat. The sea breeze is more than refreshing. The room contains also a little safe. Everything looked clean and hygienic.
We slept well during our stay there. Except on our third night. The walls are a little bit noisy. This isn’t to bad, except when people are making a lots of noise. The couple next to us came home around 11:45 PM, and were having fun, laughing, and talking pretty loud. This went on till 00:30.
Safety:
- During our stay we felt safe. Around the hotel is a fence. Of course if a thief wants to come in, the thief will try to come in. Nevertheless the feeling of being safe is there. There’s also a locker stuck to the wall. It’s a little bit small, but big enough to hold my wallet, our passports, DSLR, and my over-ear headset. You have to play Tetris though. But if will fit, and the door will lock easily!
Hotel area:
- There is a bbq, a garden to sit, and a place to dispose your garbage. Behind the hotel is a big parking area. No worries about that.
Location:
- The location is situated between the main road and the beach. At the beach is also a path for walking and running. Every early morning I saw locals exercising. You could also take a nice swim at the beach. Although, the sea can be a little bit rough. The town of Ste. Luce is only a 10 minute walk. It’s a small town with 2 bakeries, a couple of restaurants, and a supermarket.
Staff:
- The staff is extremely helpful, good English speaking, and knowledgable. After our first night the staff asked us if we heard the other people. They were drinking and extremely loud. I told them they woke me up, but I was so tired (jetlag) I simply went back to sleep after putting my earplugs in. Anyway, the staff made sure the loud people weren’t loud on our second night. The office is not open 24/7. Only during the day.
We were also adviced to leave at 7 AM in the morning for our 09:15 AM ferry to Dominica. You need to be at the ferry terminal at least one hour before departure, and it’ll take you at least a hour to get to the terminal because of all the traffic heading towards Fort-de-France.More
