Legend has it this great comic said he wanted "I told you I wasn't feeling well" on his tombstone. He is buried in a sweet churchyard of a lovely church with somehow more stained glass than expected. Good ones.

Winchelsea must be one of the quietest towns in Britain , as its is off the main road .Easy parking very few yellow lines . The church is steeped in history as the previous review states. A place to let your mind take you back in time to when this was a very important prosperous place . Don't miss Spike Milligan' s grave

Steeped in history when once upon a time it would have been a key port, the now remains of a much larger church contained it all, the people residing over the years spoke volumes of the place.

An interesting church to visit. A light church and also an inviting building. There are church attendees who are very willing to talk about the building. If you are visiting Winchelsea make time to explore the history of this church.
