This is just the most perfect place to stay. It's not just having your own cosy cottage, or the spectacular view across the farm to mountains so close you'd swear you could touch them. If you read the other reviews, you'd soon realise that it is Mike and Helen's hospitality and warm welcome that makes Glenview Farmstay so special. From the moment we arrived they made us feel like we were part of their family; sharing the most delicious home-cooked meals, taking us out on the farm, helping to feed the chickens and introducing us to their wider family. There was nothing that was too much trouble, while at the same time we had as much privacy as we wanted. I'd definitely recommend this place as one of the most special places we've ever stayed at.

We stayed at Glenview for one night as we were passing through on our way to Wanaka. The little cottage we stayed in was perfect for us, 2 rooms one with a bunk bed for the kids, bathroom and AMAZING views of Mount Hutt. A private little outside area and Helen and Mike on hand for anything we needed. Helen took the kids off to feed the chooks, we went for a wander in the fields to find some lambs and then had a great dinner in one of the pubs in Methven.

The beds were comfortable, the breakfast in the morning was yum and the kids loved it. Helen was totally happy for them to play in the garden and with her grandkids toys. They didn't want to leave!

We would absolutely stay again, especially if we were skiing Mt Hutt next time.

Highly recommended.

My family and I have just returned to Hong Kong from a skiing trip to New Zealand and stayed with Mike and Helen for 10 days. They made us feel very welcome and took excellent care of us. We were made to feel part of the family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay on their farm. Mike and Helen did their best to ensure our holiday in NZ was unforgettable, and got us involved in numerous activities around the farm. Helen’s cooking (breakfast and dinner) was always to the highest standard. I have to say this is the best and friendliest B and B I have visited in many years of traveling around the world.

We had intended staying in Methven in our campervan, but we decided to call in after seeing their roadside sign. We felt like something different to the side-by-side stacked in campervan caravan park stopover.
We were only going to stay one night and ski Mt Hutt, but it was so easy and relaxing and comfortable we ended up staying for 4 days. It's only a 10 minute drive to town for the best coffee and Eggs Benedict at Primo. Fantastic skiing at Mt Hutt - so much less busy than Coronet Peak and the Remarkables - you can ski straight onto a lift chair without having to queue!!!
Mike and Helen were really friendly hosts, they couldn't do enough for us. We were totally self-catering but they still invited us in for tea and coffee and Helen's terrific biscuits, and a glass or two of wine after dinner, and yummy winter puddings! Mike took us on a tour of their beautiful farm to see the cattle and sheep. They have the most incredible views across their green pastures right up to the mountain. Helen gave us lots of sight-seeing tips and maps. It is a beautiful part of NZ and it was a relaxing last couple of days' rest before we flew out of Christchurch (about 100km away) Hey Bella and Joe!

Mike and Helen are such wonderful host that made our two-night stay at their Glenview Farm memorable. We arrived in the afternoon and had their home cooked dinner. The lamb was nice and the apple pie was soooo good. Oh, not to forget the delicious cookie Helen baked for us to take along for our Tranzalpine train ride the next day. We totally enjoyed the after-dinner chat, with the fire place just neaby, and the company of the ever-energetic Bella and the "King of the Roast", Mr Jojo.

Mike was so nice to bring us along with him around the farm as he herds his cattle and sheep, explaining to us how things work around here. We couldn't ask for more.

As for the accommodation, it was nice and cosy. Very homely. Oh, we go a beautiful view of their farm and Mount Hutt from our room.

For anyone who wants to hop up to Mount Hutt or experience a cattle and sheep farmstay, this is the place you have to make a stop for.
