A very relaxing three nights in this well run hotel with charming staff. We stayed in the newly renovated Coach House which has specially adapted bathrooms. Room 26 was perfect for my husband's needs. The only problem was access to the main hotel up a steep slope which was only doable thanks to his powerful electric wheelchair. This must be pointed out to wheelchair bound clients. Breakfasts were delicious, but the food in the Garden Room ie the casual dining, needs some fine tuning. Dinner in the more formal Terrace Restaurant was delicious though expensive. Wonderful setting and the décor is a joy. Chatsworth House is nearby and apart from being stunning, caters brilliantly for the disabled. Haddon Hall also nearby is a definite non starter for anyone with any sort of mobility problem. We can't wait to come back!

Many thanks for your feedback - pleased to learn you enjoyed the Coach House. We have plans for the 'slope', but the challenge is that the Cavendish is built on the side of a hill! Watch this space.
Hope to welcome you back on a future occasion.

Kind regards

Philip Joseph

My husband and I have just enjoyed three wonderful relaxing days at this gracious and peaceful hotel. Wonderful location a short stroll to Chatsworth. Would have been a 5 star rating if the dinner service had been as great as the rest of our stay.

Day 3 of our bank holiday weekend stay and we are having such a lovely time here.

Beautifully appointed hotel looked after by a very professional and capable team. Excellent food, service and genuine interest in guest experience. Rooms are comfortable and quiet with lovely countryside views.

Will be sad to leave tomorrow but will definitely be coming back!

Was not expecting much after trying repeatedly to get through on the phone to book but got a deal on the internet and ended up with a lovely room, totally peaceful and nicely decorated with a small but modern bathroom. It is well run, everything looks well maintained and does not have the slightly tired feel if many similar country hotels. Location is great though the car park gets full and you may struggle to squeeze in. Delicious dinner too in the proper restaurant with good service. We also enjoyed our breakfast with lovely juice and simple cereal, yoghurts and fruit. Well worth the money.

Fellow travellers, you get a great view from the rooms and a nice location so you can stroll across to Chatsworth, but we had a disappointing stay. Very expensive and amateurish service. If you stay there, the breakfast is excellent but avoid the evening meal. Poor service, mediocre food and reasonable wine. I wouldn’t repeat but clearly others enjoy it.
