Room bookings had been made a year in advance . One of the rooms was required to be wheelchair accessible. Upon check in we were advised that our booking was not there. Lots of discussion was had but we had confirmation documents and after 30 minutes plus it was sorted to a degree. One room required for the following night still had not been allocated. These things are not acceptable for an elite hotel but what was really upsetting was the fact that the wheelchair accessible room not only cost $296.00 more for the 3 nights than a mainstream room but the wheelchair only just fitted in the doorway to the room with much manoevring; the wheelchair accessible room was right down the end furthest from the lifts with a doorway to get through before entering the door of the apartment;the fridge did not work; the biggest most alarming problem was that the wheelchair harness required for showering a disabled person DID NOT fit into the shower therefore requiring the disabled person to be hand bathed for the three Nights on the bed. The amount of room left in the apartment was minimal making access to anything difficult. A Hotel cannot claim to have a wheelchair accessible room if in fact the room is a far cry from that. Why was the room smaller than a mainstream room? Cost more than a mainstream room? This is the highest form of discrimination.

I had booked 4 rooms and waited an hour (4:30pm on) to finally get into our room. We booked a handicapped room and was assured it would be suitable but it feel short as well (booked a year in advance). The chair/sling to wash the handicapped child would not fit into the shower, but we knew it was a waste of time speaking to management as she continually tried to find a fault she could blame us for. The receptionist even told us we were ALL booked into the same room (HOW?) at one stage and they could not find another blaming Booking .com for the error. It wasn't.
Room service and breakfast was excellent with very pleasant and coffee was also very good. The Garden restaurant was extremely busy with 'fast' and friendly service, but the nine of us were attended to efficiently.
Lifts were very fast and generally things went well, but none of us will stay there again.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

Outstanding is the best description - the gazillion dollar upgrade is obvious- this is a place for a special occasion. I did search other hotels but drew a line through many on principle - they charge for parking. FREE parking - it’s the principle. The Chinese restaurant has always been excellent - we went again and I think they have even got better- 10 out of 10. Love this place - and so does the bride.

The hotel is lovely, Wi-Fi is good and its a short walk to the Gold Coast convention centre and the shops, cafes and broadbeach. There are several restaurants in the hotel. They are a bit pricey. I ate in the Italian which was good

Dear thelizzybeth,

Thank you for your review and choosing to stay with us. With many onsite options for dining there is something for everyone and being in the heart of Broadbeach gives more options with the many other restaurants and clubs in the area.

Once again thank you for your review, we look forward to seeing you again.

Kind Regards,

I stayed here in October 2018 with my wife whilst visiting my son who lives in the area. The hotel is massive and with the added attractions of an on site casino and theatre it was as big as anything we've stayed at in Las Vegas. That said, we found the Garden Room restaurant nice for lunch but a bit busy at breakfast time. However the individually made omelettes were nice. Our room was large and comfortable and overlooked the waterway. The hotel itself was very busy especially over the NASCAR weekend. We also visited the bar on the 19th floor at the connected Darling Hotel which was very lively. The main thing I could fault the hotel for was the fact they took payment for the room on my credit card even though it had already been paid. It took 4 days for the cost to be credited back once I pointed out their error. The other was the refurb work was a little noisy. The workmen often began drilling and using machinery before 7 am. Although the hotel warn about the work they do not mention work will commence before 7am. This is a very large hotel and if you are looking for individual personal service you might be disappointed or find it overwhelming. But if you want a very busy hotel offering a variety of entertainment, bars and restaurants then it will fit the bill nicely. Set a little distance away from Broadbeach sea front means a walk into the centre of Broadbeach.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back overlook the waterway. See the attached photo for the view.
