My husband and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon to Gold Coast. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by both Jason and Jane. Our bags were delivered to our room by Isaac who we cannot thank enough for making our stay truly great! He recommended several different activities including a local market, national parks, and Byron Bay. He is such a valuable part of the team at the Sheraton Grand Mirage and we are so lucky to have had him to recommend things for us to do! Thanks so much, Isaac-best of luck to you in your new adventures! And thanks so much to the rest of the team!

The location and lay out specially the outdoor areas is fantastic. It proximity to the beach is wonderful. However the room we stayed in needs some TLC. the furniture is worn and in some cases battered, I missed a Nespresso machine that most first class hotels now provide. I found the bar in the room unbelievably expensive. A bottle of water $9.50 a tiny bottle of whiskey $15.00. The breakfast is great. Next time I will ask for a room with a balcony. Overall it's good, but needs an upgrade.

Dear Peter H

We do not have many guests from Barcelona so it was great to have you both with us during your visit to Australia! Your insights and comments are appreciated, and whilst we are pleased you enjoyed the resort overall, we regret those areas which caused you disappointment.

With regards balconies, our rooms and suites within the hotel do not have a balcony, though we do have very popular ground level rooms – Garden Terrace and Lagoon – which offer external patio areas.

Each of our newly refurbished villas (self contained 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartments) do feature a balcony.

Peter H, looking forward to welcoming you back when you are next travelling to Australia...and many thanks again for your review, and your support.

Warmly
Mark

This 'resort' is not 5 star by any stretch - and considering the huge choice of accommodation on the Gold Coast, your $$$$ will be better spent elsewhere. Bored staff that really didn't seem to care, very ordinary rooms, food was ok but expensive. Don't even think of going to this resort if you smoke - we were humiliated when 3, yes THREE, security staff rushed up to our terrace at 9pm (when there was not another person anywhere) and informed us that smoking was strictly prohibited within the grounds - and we would have to go outside the resort. The sign in our room clearly stated that smoking was not allowed in the room (as you expect these days) but no mention of the outside terrace. We did not pay big $$ to be told off like naughty children - perhaps a courtesy call to our room to inform us of the 'rules' would have been much less confronting & more appropriate. Don't stay here, you have a massive choice of nicer hotels that actually respect their guests.

Dear lisa-sams

We are very sorry you had such a disappointing stay earlier this month. Your comments regarding the notification of our no smoking policy and the way this was handled by our Security Officers are noted, and we apologise sincerely for the way this interaction, as described, made you feel. We strive to be courteous and respectful in all interactions with our guests and patrons, and from your feedback it is clear we have fallen down on this occasion. Please know that your comments will be followed up to ensure no recurrence of your experience.

I have also taken the opportunity to review the collateral relating to our no smoking policy, and can advise that the information contained in your key wallet on check in, and included on the in room card, does advise that our resort is completely smoke free.

Thank you for staying with us lisa-sams, and for taking the time to post a review bringing your experience to my attention. And we sincerely regret your stay was not the positive experience enjoyed by the majority of our guests.

warmly
Mark

Second visit back, unfortunately early check in arranged didn't happen. Staff made sure I was comfortable for the 5 hours I had to wait before my room was ready. Room same as previous with ocean view, seems they must all be standard size. These rooms are in desperate need of renovation, old soaker tub to climb into to take a shower could prove difficult if your not young & flexible. Disappointed that rooms don't have balcony but if your an early riser you will get a spectacular sun rise over the beach. Spa is not hotels, it's building adjacent to resort, tennis courts need some work. Room service is punctual & polite staff that deliver your exact order. If you choose to eat in one of 3 places you will not be disappointed. Seafood buffet is signature to the hotel served every evening & is extremely varied in choices.
Thank goodness for the porter service if you have lots of luggage, rooms can be a hike from check in main hall entrance. Valet parking for $30 a day or self park if you want to negotiate the maze underground parking. Swimming pool is heated perfectly & remains open from dawn till dusk, with pool bar service that wasn't open during my stay. Short walk to beach, spectacular swimming with lifeguards on duty again, dawn till dusk. When the wind comes up so do the waves for surfing.
Value for money was questionable for me travelling on business. Extremely overpriced for room quality but it's a resort not a hotel as it was pointed out to me several times.
Would I go back & stay again? Maybe if room rate was lower & SPG Starwood upgrade was better. The staff are first class but room facility is sadly lacking.

My husband & I have just returned from a four day stay at this wonderful hotel. We were celebrating our anniversary & upon checking into our room we found a bottle of champagne & a lovely note from the manager. We were upgraded to an ocean view room & the views were to die for. We cannot speak highly enough of the staff. Every interaction we had was top notch, everyone was so welcoming & helpful & seemed to genuinely love their job. The breakfasts were superb, everything you could think of and more as were the buffet dinners. Parking is free & plentiful, across the road is the Marina Mall which houses interesting shops, restaurants & bars should you need some distraction. We can't wait to return , it really is that good. Also nice to be away from the hustle & bustle of Surfers. Highly recommended.

Room tip: Ocean view rooms are best.
