Description: The white swan at Fence is a traditional local pub that just happens to serve food, real ales & wines so fine that you will probably do a little dance of delight when you sample them. Backed by Timothy Taylors, fronted by team Turners with cellar queens Liv & Lou plus the boy wonder Tom Parker in the kitchen, we've got a veritable dream team going on. It will be love at first sight, smell & savour.

The food was excellent and the service was extremely friendly and helpful. We went on Good Friday for dinner and everyone’s food was lovely. It’s hard to pick one dish that was better than the rest but the chocolate soufflé was amazing.

Went here for a private wedding party and the food, service and general hosting was outstanding.Went back the following day and witnessed/experienced exactly the same levels of excellence on a 'normal' trading day.

We have been lucky enough to eat in some amazing restaurants and experience service at the highest level but if charming service delivering simple yet very clever food (I know!) is your thing then this is the place to go - they love what they do and rightly so because it's bloody great!

We came here to celebrate my Father's 91st birthday and were delighted with everything. Every plate of food we had was beautifully cooked and tasted great. The women serving us looked after us very well and were very friendly. Look forward to returning.

A young crowd run this little public house and they do a fine job. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is charming.
Well worth a visit highly recommended.

We recently visited the White Swan after an absence of about 6 months. We were very disappointed with the food and it shocked us! We LOVED this place and have spent plenty of £££'s here over the last few years, but after this last visit I really doubt we would return again. Worst still, we had taken friends with us too.

The food was under seasoned, and we had to ask for salt and pepper as it wasn't on the table (why?). The portions were small in comparison to what we have had there before. We didn't leave feeling full. It was also very cold even though there were quite a few people inside. Every time the door in the bar opened we got a huge waft of cold. Thank goodness we went before the really cold weather hit!

Not really sure whats going on here. Going from previous reviews I don't seem to be the only one who thinks its going down hill? Maybe this is the reason The White Swan are no longer in the top 50 Gastro pubs?

Also whilst we were there the Chef came out of the kitchen and stood behind the bar having a very loud conversation with a customer across the room. We found it hard to talk over the noise! I'm sorry to say he looked very scruffy and unprofessional! My friend thought he was the pot washer! As the head Chef appearance is everything, or at least stay in the kitchen out of site!

I don't like leaving bad reviews but the service and food just didn't match our expectations. We have seen you do so much better. I think that might be our last visit.
