Glow Worm Cave and Natural Bridge Tour from Gold...
Ranked #3 of 10 things to do in Springbrook

On our way from Sprinbrook to Murwillimbah we dropped in to see Natural Bridge & very happy we did. The park is free & only a short drive off the main road.

A couple of car parks & there needed to be as it was very busy - cars & mini-buses. Got a park & headed off on the relatively short track that winds down through the rainforest on a loop walk.

The track follows the stream up towards the bottom of the Bridge seeing the water cascade down into the pond. Then into the cavern under the arch to see the water fall as well as the microbats that live there.

Then a walk back up the hill (fairly easy walk with a few steps) with a couple of viewing spots of the creek, the Arch/Bridge and the waterfall.

No cafe facilities there although on the weekend we visited there was an icecream van doing a good trade. I beleive there were toilet facilities.

Another popular park a few km's back towards Springbrook provided more facilities (picnicing, bbq's, grass) including swimming in the mountain stream.

Only a short activity but well worth the drive.

Being overweight and unfit I had trepidation when faced with many stairs down, down and down (knowing that I would have to return back UP) but the steps had good tread even in the wet weather and handrails. The rock formation was as advertised and scenically pleasing. The walk back up on the circuit had less stairs and more winding slopes on a good quality asphalt path, which required courtesy for oncoming walkers due to its lack of width but a comfortable climb for this 60 year old teletubby. I walked the path in flip flop thongs, without any difficulty. The foliage was lush, the moss very verdant on logs and rocks, after a rainy month. The cave at the Natural Bridge was busy with small flying bats in the deeper sections which was an unexpected sight. Car parking was scarce on the busy Easter weekend but visitors turned over quickly as there is only the waterfall to “do” as picnic facilities were limited to just one table.

It’s a must do when you’re visiting the Gold Coast. Well maintained track. Low-medium fitness needed. I’d recommend doing the loop in the clockwise direction to avoid steep ascent. Swimming prohibited to preserve glow worms. Limited parking available. Limited mobile reception.

Natural Bridge is a beautiful and interesting waterfall. The walk is not too long, so it is good for family trip.

Been here about 4 times, great to see it’s become safer, the tracks are well maintained, the water is crystal clear and the railings are very safe. I am going back to see the glow worms tomorrow night. I did notice a bit of garbage. Pleas3 take your garbage people. Toilets are clean but be ready for eco toilets. Don’t attempt to swim peoples.
