Stayed for four nights with a coach trip.
Great for smokers, but if you don't like cigarette smoke in Reception, In the Bar, and in all other public areas then avoid this place like the plague. Most rooms are basic and tatty, although there are a few that have been re-furbished.
We were in the annexe (across a busy street).... this was actually a bonus because it was less smoky there.
We had no hot water for 24 hours and a tiny shower cubicle that didn't work too well. WiFi is simply not worth bothering about as its too unreliable in the rooms.
Food was mainly edible although two meals were not. Breakfast buffet boring and tired.
Caters for the cheap mass market.... if you want more than that, then there are much better hotels in Oberharmersbach at roughly the same price.

Room Tip: The refurbished rooms in the annexe are far nicer. Ask for a room NOT overlooking the road, its is deceptively noisy and busy.

We stayed here for four nights on a Shearings coach tour for the Christmas markets. Our room was on the top floor so the lift helped, it was very clean and the beds were really comfy, with those lovely squashy square pillows. The staff were exceptionally cheerful and friendly, dressing in national costume to serve our meals (breakfast was a help yourself buffet). The setting of the hotel was very picturesque, the Christmas decorations and lights on the front look really magical.
We went on all the trips although the markets were similar each town/city had something different to offer, our drivers Trevor and Sean were very good.
All in all this was a very enjoyable holiday and great value for money.

Very nice hotel. Staff so friendly, food was very nice good meals every night, free entertainment for 3 nights not on the agenda but well appreciated, Room was so clean bit noisy with either traffic or church bells but only early in the morning. Free pass for bus/train and maps so journey to Zell was within easy reach. Serving girls were well endowed just like you would expect for the old world German Black Forest. All in all a successful trip

Comfortable room ( with useful safe ). nice buffet breakfast but only average evening meals. One very professional attentive waitress and another who appeared somewhat less interested. The village church is across the road and has very loud bells especially at 6.00 in the morning ! Traffic is heavy and loud(at night) for a small village mainly affecting rooms at the front of the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front will be noisy from heavy traffic and loud church bells.

Hotel itself comfortable and clean, food could be improved - particularly for vegetarians! - and have experienced better customer service. It is however situated in a good position to tour the surrounding Black Forest area

Room Tip: Select room at back of hotel if you do not like the sound of Church bells
