This was the best weekend ever. This city is so beautiful, ancient. We stopped in the small apartment in the footage of the tower and all this old castle was seemed to be ours. We walked for hours and the food was nor expensive but really delicious in this town.

Historical accounts date Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle to the early 14th century, although recent archaeological evidence has proved human existence in the area back to the 12th or 13th century.

The site is approached over a bridge. There is a toll to pay for cars. Entrance fee is 50 UAH adult. The buildings have been restored. Lots of very steep narrow steps within the towers. Activities for children eg archery. Disappointed to find they use a captive owl for tourists to photo.

This is the biggest medieval fortress in Ukraine, good preserved and beautiful. We were there in our family trip. We and our children were very delighted. It was like the trip to the medieval days!
The fortress is situated in the beautiful place, surrounded by the fantastic-looking river canyon.
There are also some interesting buildings outside the fortress walls, but belonging to the fortress. Unfortunately, they are not officially exposed, but worth seeing too.
Inside the fortress, there are small souvenir shops and a restaurant where traditionally dressed cookers cook at open air.
