We went there because of the reviews and the price - which was very reasonable for this amazing village. Rosy is a very nice and helpful lady and the rooms are clean with amazing views. Rozy has some amazing apartments in the building as well , but they are more expensive (more reasonable if you rent it for a longer period of time). It is only one block from the beach. Highly recommended

Room Tip: Take rooms on the third floor - view is much better

chacala is a nice little mexican village, with a great beach to walk & swim!! there are 6-8 places to eat on the beach, with plenty of beer & drinks & chairs to sit & watch the ocean!! the bay is great for swimming , you can rent a paddle board or a kayak, for a hour or two!!

This is a sweet little, locally-run place. Lapita, the manager, is warm and informative, and helped me recover the jacket I had left behind, The rooms are very clean, as are the available kitchen area and pool. Security is good, including gated on-site parking. And it's really inexpensive. My only complaint is that it's time to replace the pillows.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a hill, and you can see the ocean from all the rooms.

My wife and I spent a very relaxing week at the Casa Chacala. The small hotel is a block up from downtown Chacala (which consists of two short blocks along the beach). All the rooms are clean, comfortable, and have a wonderful view of the town and the ocean. There is a common kitchen available on the main floor which we used to cook shrimp and fresh dorado purchased from one of the small fish markets.
There are actually two apartments available, if you ask ahead of time, each with two bedrooms and full kitchens.

Valentino, the proprietor. and his niece, Lupita. both speak English and are very helpful

Be aware that the closest bank and ATM are in Las Varas, a twenty minute ride via collectivo taxi at a cost of fifteen pesos each. Your credit card will be virtually useless in town so bring enough money to pay for your room and for meals. Chacala is mainly a tourist town for retirees and families although Valentino claims it can be very festive during Easter time.

One block and a small hill up from the beach, this small hotel is welcoming and comfortable. The staff were kind and accommodating, the room had a sunset-side balcony big enough for a card game, and the pool was a refreshing dip after a day in the waves.
