Description: El Patio is a restaurant/bar located in the heart of Tlaquepaque, Jalisco. We await you with a mariachi band, live music and our traditional Mexican cuisine. You can enjoy all of this in a fresh and natural ambiance within the walls and garden of a 19th century house.

After touring the city, this was a wonderful place to stop and have our meal. The service was excellent, the limon and tamarind margaritas were tasty and refreshing and the food was delicious! I had the molcajete mar y tierra. I was told that the food portions were for one person however, the portion was for two people. The entertainment with the folklorico dancers and all girl mariachi topped off a wonderful dinning experience. If you are ever in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, I highly recommend El Patio.

Totally enjoyable experience. Women Mariachi group come at 3 pm. First time for 4 in our group. Our group of 8 , thoroughly enjoyed the music and ambiance. El Patio serves good food and drinks. I highly recommend it for the experience. We try to make it there, when we are in town from Mazatlan. We love "showing it off" to friends and acquaintances.

Had excellent and prompt service! The food was excellent at a very reasonable price! They even had a 2 for 1 margarita special. The complimentary Mariachi Femenil Band at 3 pm was a great touch!

The experience was good, the delays in food service allowed the bar service to continue and when the food arrived it was cold to warm. Classic tourist restaurant in Tlaquepaque district, fast on delivering bar drinks but very slow on water! There are better restaurants in the area and next time I would explore those first. Over all it is expensive for Mexico.

We arrived in Tlaquepaque on a rainy Saturday afternoon, on the bus. Stayed near El Patio so wanted to repeat the excellent meal I had last year.

Hard to believe but it was even better than last year. Last year, I went on a Sunday to see/hear the mariachis, amidst large gatherings of tourists (albeit mostly nationals, but lots of different nationality flags on the tables). This time, we arrived around 5:30pm. There were many groups of nationals enjoying group events. Graduations, pre-weddings, etc. We found that out, talking to some of the people going by our table. Might have been rainy, but it was festive.

The fun potter was still there, making all kinds of statuettes for the restaurant guests. That's one of the fun things about this restaurant.

No live music but there was very nice subtle Mexican music in the background. As we were leaving later, closer to 8pm, a small group came in with live music. It was really loud so we were glad we'd come earlier.

The service was outstanding. Jaziel was our friendly and efficient waiter, but two or three other staff members came by also, either asking how we were or bringing our actual dish. Also, when we were ready to leave, Jaziel came by and said, "would you like another margarita? --- they are 2x1." What a surprise. Sure, so we sat there a little longer and just enjoyed the romantic, relaxing courtyard.

We had the Mexican tampiqueña plate --- excellent steak and enchiladas and guacamole --- and my dish, of chiles en nogada. 160 and 195 pesos. So tasty, I almost wanted to go back the next day for the same chiles de nogada. Usually that dish is served cold. This one was a little warm, but still delicious. I actually preferred the warmth, which brought out the complex flavors.

We were in Tlaquepaque for 4 days and ate at a number of places. This rainy Saturday, with all the happy celebrating groups and the excellent food and attentive, personable service, was just what we needed --- our favorite meal of our visit. It was made more special, seeing the new menu celebrating their 30th anniversary. We will return.
