“enjoyable holiday in a very good hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

just returned from a pleasant week staying in this hotel. We were allocated large sea view rooms which were very clean though bathroom a little dated, an extra light above the bath would have helped. After reading previous reviews we were a bit concerned re the comments about how the english were treated, we found nothing could have been further from the truth. From the moment we arrived in reception and were told to leave our luggage and booking forms until we had eaten, nobody could have been any friendlier.
food of a very good standard and entertainment the best we have ever seen in a foreign hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel as it is ideally situated and very accessible to a great beach

Room Tip: request a sea view on lower floors, quieter

Booked this as a cheap All Inclusive week in the sun with no expectations other than wanting some nice weather. We upgraded during our booking to a superior room which comes with a sea view. The room was very nice, modern and clean and the view looking out onto the beach towards the sea was amazing. We knew before booking that the hotel, and in fact this part of the island, is mainly German. Caleta de Fuste would be a better bet if you want to be surrounded by Brits and all day breakfasts :) I also noticed that the place wasn't overrun with children thankfully.

Room service was good, fresh towels and water replaced daily, and the welcome bottle of cava was a nice touch. With the superior room you got access to an extra pool with plenty of room and a choice of sun loungers at all time.

The food was ok. I don't think I'd have coped with it for over a week as it was fairly repetitive but I always found something to eat that I liked. Great choice of very nice wine on the AI. They have some outside seating at dinner but we never managed to get a table so you end up eating in a large room with hundreds of people and no atmosphere.

Can't comment on the entertainment as seeing a hotel entertainment team performing starlight express really isn't my thing. Bar was nice, fairly busy and was nice to sit out and have a few drinks after dinner. This part of the island is stunning with miles of beach and we walked along it for hours each day. It's so big I can't imagine it ever feeling crowded.

Nothing to do with the hotel but I need a "Thomas cook were useless rant". We sat on our transfer coach for an hour before a rep finally turned up with no apology (really bad customer service, just a quick "sorry about being late" would have been appreciated) and they totally forgot about us on the way back. After a few phone calls to a confused rep we ended up getting a cab to the airport which cost them the best part of 100 euros. It goes without saying that the you don't expect leg room or comfort on their planes either.

I'd resent going with Thomas Cook but would probably come to the hotel again if I just wanted a good value all inclusive week in the sun during winter.

Room Tip: Book a superior room - modern with sea views and a quieter pool area.

My husband and I are just back from a week at the Iberostar Palace and we could not fault it. We were given a room as far away from the reception and restaurant as you could possibly get but this also meant that it was very quiet and closer to both the beach and the pool. Although our room faced onto the main road we heard very little noise and spent so little time in the room that a sea view would have been wasted. The lifts and the layout are a bit unusual but you get used to them. The food was great and the waiters were very efficient. All areas of the hotel were kept spotless and the bed in our room was enormous and really comfortable. I have never slept so well on holiday. Even the air conditioning was pretty quiet.

The hotel supplies pool towels for a 10 euro refundable deposit each and you can change them as often as you like. The safe deposit box is 15.90 euros per week with a 5 euro refundable deposit on the key.

Previous reviews are correct about the number of German guests but there were also many other nationalities there and we found absolutely no problem with this. We certainly didn't feel that we were treated any differently to other guests. All the staff were extremely friendly and polite.

The pools were very cold so we spent most days down at the beach. The sunbeds and umberellas are 4 euros each per day but that beats lying in the sand. The beach and sea are spotless although make sure you take drinks with you because there is only 1 cafe down there.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Just remember to have an open mind as there is no dress code on the beach - clothing is optional!

Paid our money and our stay was for 14 nights Iberostar thought it would be nice to give us a room which was located at the back and far away from everything going on with a beautiful view of the main road going into Jandia with all the traffic and continous noise. When speaking to other English couples about 10 in total as the English r very few with the exception of 1 couple all the Brits are dumped into these abysmal rooms 4112, was ours which also gave us a beautiful view of the Barcelo hoarding sign for that hotel. We stayed in this dark cold noisy room for one night the next morning we complained and was told we would not be able to get another room until Saturday (we were told by another Brit couple they had been given a dreadful room in this number sequence and told they couldn't be moved until Saturday) bearing in mind we had arrived on the Wednesday. at 6am the traffic noise started and there was no way you could sleep any more. Eventually after we were insisting to b changed on Thursday morning the hotel manager eventually found us another room which was to the front of the hotel with a sea view but after sleeping in this room 4110 ( the numbering sequence is a bit strange) we soon learnt that every morning we would be woken by the cleaners trolleys at 7.45 every morning and one morning a cleaning maid even
Knocked on our door at 8.30am to clean our room but at least we managed to get some sleep during the night time. whilst
we were there some member of staff set the coffee machine alight and all the lights of the hotel kept flickering on and off and as there are stairs all over the place this became dangerous but they got the electricians in who eventually after 2 days got this problem sorted out. this hotel is overrun by German clientele and really only caters for the Germans. This is sad because the food they serve is very good, the animation staff work extremely hard a big big call out for Ben, Liza Laura and the young chap from Holland these guys work their socks off every day to keep the guests entertained. The view is stunning from the hotel balcony but when it came to the evening for service of drinks if you were German fine English forget it - My honest opinion - If you r German u will have a great time but if you are English and are thinking about staying at this hotel I would say forget it - look at the Princess Fuertaventura we've stayed at this hotel twice we knew Jandia is the German resort of Fuertaventura and is much nicer than the British resort Correlejo but this hotel did not seem to be overrun by Germans but from memory lot of the German nudists do use this hotel but at both times we did not feel as if we were made to be 2nd class citizens and both times we were given nice rooms on arrival. ThankGod for the chefs and the animation staff - they made our holiday along with 12days out of 14 days of beautiful weather but we will never stay at this hotel again and I will certainly not recommend this hotel to any of our friends or business colleagues. One thing I would mention is that the chefs in this hotel work very hard to prepare and produce very nice food for their guests but we seemed to notice that the appreciation was not reciprocated by the German guests who did not feel the need to show their appreciation by dressing appropriately I noticed one evening that there seemed to be whilst we were in the dining room only 3 ladies in evening dress myself included and guess what we were all English.

I feel enough has been said and therefore leave u to make your decision but my view has be written with an honest opinion and not exaggerated in anyway.
One other point I would like to make all the staff were very polite.

Dear Guest,

In first place, we would like to thank you for your stay in our Iberostar Fuerteventura Palace and for your friendly comment. It is a pleasure for us to read how much you have enjoyed your stay with us. We would also like to apologize for “any “situation under our standards.

Concerning the sea view, or street view, we would like to remark that we dispose of various categories of rooms corresponding to different view ranges and prices. The only way to guarantee a sea view is booking a room with sea view or full sea view thru our official web site.

We are glad to read that your child has enjoyed our entertainment program. The entertainment team work very hard with illusion and enthusiasm to make all our guest feel welcome.

Feedback like yours is very important to us, so we know what we can improve to reach an even higher and more exclusive service for our guest. We will certainly take into our consideration and we will do our utmost to improve these points.

Muchas gracias

Yours sincerely

Stayed for a week from 9/3/12 to 16/3/12,we arranged our own flight, car hire and hotel booking.
Flight from Birmingham with Ryanair left early arrived early, hired car with Goldstar who met me outside the airport and thoroughly recommended as on collection full tank of fuel and old to bring back empty,,no con ,used third tank and not charged.
Hotel mainly German guests as was the entertainment however very good as they mixed it with English, staff superb and attentive not like main land spainairds who through my experiences appear surly.
Food fabulous and various deny anyone to not find something suitable even if you are a lover of chips they were there.First four days weather great still and warm up to 28C

We have just returned from a week's holiday in Fuerteventura. This is the first time we have visited the island and we were very impressed. We had booked an All Inclusive stay through an independent agent and were a little concerned regarding the arrangements. However, all went to plan (except the flight delay upon return to UK).
The hotel is much larger than we would normally choose and perhaps with not choosing a larger travel agent I can't say our room was in an ideal location but it was large, well appointed and clean.
The hotel had 8 floors built into the cliff face and upon arrival we were given a map to find the restaurants, pool and other facilities. Reception being on the 7th floor, dining room 6th, pool 4th and our room being on the 1st floor. None of the lifts went from the top to the bottom floor, seeming to have to walk miles from one location to another.

Having said that the food was very, very good with a great selection at every meal. the majority of the guests were of other nationalities and the British were definitely in a minority. The entertainment team were very good and tried to accomodate all guests, striving to include everyone in the shows and other poolside games.

All in all, we had a great week and came home well fed and well rested, with a lovely tan!

Room Tip: Possibly ask for an upgrade with a sea view, level 4 or above

Just spent two weeks at this hotel. The location is wonderful - the beach is only a few metres away. The staff all work so hard and the entertainment staff were the best we have ever seen during nine years visiting different islands in the Canaries. The food was good too. The only gripe we had was the rooms are not 4* especially the bathrooms they all need updating and the walls are thin, consequently we could hear conversation from the room next door. On the day we left we found two cockcroaches in the bathroom. The pools are cold - one is freezing - the sea is warmer. We had a wonderful holiday and it was sunny every day.
