This resort is overpriced and over-rated. If you go by the reviews, you will expect a top class venue, which unfortunately this resort is not.

We had booked a family suite (via an agency) and a few days before we were due to go we were informed that this family suite was not suitable for 4 kids (not the resort's fault- this was an error made by our travel agent ). We are a family of 6. Instead we were given a 2 bed apartment. The apartment was dated, dull, and cramped for a family of 6. Our 2 youngest slept on couches all week. Perhaps the family suites are better. The shower and tap pressure was terrible. The wifi coverage was dismal and when you could connect, it was ridiculously slow.
The pool area was nice and well maintained but the pools were very cold.
You get the impression from the website that there are multiple restaurants in this resort to choose from. Realistically this is not the case. There are 2 main dining areas. El Mirador is where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served and the Boulevard Cafe supposedly has 3 dining areas within it. There is a fancier Italian restaurant within this which you are only allowed access to one night of your stay, but they don't advertise on the website that they don't allow kids under 13 in. Therefore we were unable to go here. All of these areas are completely lacking in atmosphere and the Boulevard cafe is draughty and looks run down. The food is basic. The dining areas are like school canteens.
Overall I would not go back here and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review.
I am so sorry that you were given the incorrect information about our resort from your booking agent. Our family suites of which we only have 6 are exclusively available via our web site. (Direct booking with Los Zocos) It is correct our family suites have a maximum occupancy of 5 guests.
I am also sorry that you were not advised that in the vast majority of our 2 bedroom apartments the 5th and 6th beds are the sofa beds in the living area. We do have some 2 bedroom apartments that have 3 beds in the second bedroom and then the 6th bed is the sofa bed.
We have checked all of the information on our web site description and it shows that we have 2 restaurants. El Mirador and El Boulevard. It states that in the El Boulevard we have themed sections of Vegetarian, Tex mex and Oriental. Our A la carte restaurant does state that a reservation is needed and if for guests over the age of 13 years old.
It is a shame that you did not enjoy our communal areas or our food selection that we have for all guests.
Once again I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us.
I have taken note of all of your comments.
Thank you and kind regards
Kim Talbot

We have just returned from los zocos club resort, overall had quite a good experience, will bullet point the pros and the cons

Pros
- clean tidy and spacious rooms with comfortable beds, cleaned daily
- Good quality of food, great variety, really enjoyed the oriental buffet
- Good atmosphere around the swimming pools, one pool cold and one heated, luckily the weather was good so it didn’t really matter
- Animation team great with the kids, always providing various activities and the team certainly tried there best.
- Always sun loungers available, sun loungers also cleaned every night.
- Though it cost an arm and a leg the arcade kept the kids well entertained
- Hard working and generally really polite staff (excluding the night bar staff)
- Overall really tidy and caters great for young children

Cons

- Alcohol watered down way to much, should probably put this in the pros section as well and we never had one hangover
- Bar staff on the bar at night quite disinterested, slamming drinks down on the table, could be friendlier
- Idiots constantly pushing in at the queue for breakfast, not the hotels fault, just ignorance of guests but perhaps the hotel should address this somehow

Overall really good holiday, would definitely return and the main this is the kids loved it

Dear Dave,
Thank you very much for taking the time to add your holiday review and feedback to trip Advisor.
You feedback is of the utmost importance to us and I have taken note of your comments and I will look into these.
I can assure you that the only water that is in the drinks would be the ice as the bottles of alcohol come in sealed bottles and are kept sealed until use.
I will make sure that everyone sees your comments as we are always looking for ways to improve our services to all of our guests.
It is great to read that you would return to our resort again.
I do hope this will be very soon

Once again thank you for your holiday review.

Kind Regards

Stayed at the Los Zocos for 7 nights returning on the 2nd April 2018. Check in is a fairly slow process, but our room was ready on arrival. Rooms are clean and well presented, TV had bad signal all week on all UK channels. Also the walls are very thin and we could hear next door all the time, bring earplugs with you to sleep well.
Snack bar is a little run down but drinks are easily accessible. Chips are cooked often but burger meat was mostly cold and chewy, but of a fairly good standard.
The main buffet area where you eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner is very noisy and there is no waiter service, it’s a case of finding your own table and getting your own cutlery, I must point out I witnessed everyday the waiting staff work very hard to maintain this area and concept they work around, including seeing the chefs have good practice handling raw and cooked meats.
Please be aware on every breakfast we had there, there was a long queue to get fried eggs and bacon which is cooked on show. This could be solved by having two areas where they cook eggs rather than just one.
Wine, beer, soft drinks you can help yourself to and I found the white wine quite nice. The beer is San Miguel which is pretty nice also.
Lastly I found the nightly entertainment absolutely awful, it’s the worst I have ever seen in a long time. I can’t comment on the day activities as I didn’t do any, these seem good for kids for sure, but I would strongly suggest either leaving the night entertainment to professionals or just have a disco all night. The shouting and to what I would describe as embarrassing to watch entertainment makes you leave to go elsewhere. This needs to be address as I heard lots of comments from other holiday makers how bad it was. The el boulevard bar area does have out sourced entertainment but I found that area pretty boring and cold.
Overall it’s a good hotel, and would I return, Yes if I had kids.

We have just returned from a week's holiday at Los Zocos- what a wonderful hotel for families!

We were there with our 4 year old and 18 month old. The one bedroom apartment was lovely and clean and spacious. We were on the ground floor so that we didn't have to carry the pram etc up the stairs. In our bedroom there was our bed (2 twin beds pushed together), a single bed for our daughter and a cot and there was still plenty of floor space. The kitchen/living room was a nice size and the terrace outside was nice and secure so we didn't need to worry about the 18 month old trying to escape!

The service from all staff that we encountered was wonderful. We arrived late at night and they had put plates of food, fruit and bottles of water in our room in case we were hungry.

We only ate in the El mirador buffet restaurant just because the times etc suited us with young children. The food was plentiful, hot and cooked beautifully. The hot meat was always tender and cooked perfectly. There was also always a lovely salad bar, cold meats and cheeses and lots of bread. We never had a problem finding something we liked. There was also always a selection of pizza, chips and pasta.

The children had their own buffet station and our 4 year old loved the independence of being able to select her own food. The children are of course still welcome to all the food on offer (not just the food on the children's buffet).

The grounds of the hotel are always clean and the staff obviously work very hard to keep it that way. There was some maintenance work ongoing whilst we were there but it didn't cause us any disruption.

All staff were very engaging and always made an effort to talk to our children.

The pools were always clean and we had a swim every day. The water was cold but it is still quite early in the year. There were a couple of days when the weather was very hot and so then the water felt lovely. The weather was windy on a few days which cooled things down a bit but again this didn't stop us having a swim or walking around in shorts etc.

We didn't sample the adult evening entertainment as our little ones were ready for their beds but we did go to the mini disco every night. Our 4 year old was in her element is is still doing the dances she learned now that we are home.

Costa Teguise itself is a really nice place with lovely sandy beaches, nice cafes, bars, restaurants and little shops and within a very short walk of the hotel.

All in all we had a wonderful holiday!

Currently on a family holiday at the los zocos resort. Upon arrival rooms wasn’t ready and found the reception staff to be quiet rude & not much room for luggage to be stored. Rooms are fantastic, well equipped, comfy beds, very clean with maid service every day. One big downside to the rooms is the shower - the temperature fluctuates between freezing cold & scalding hot within seconds. Hotel grounds well kept and maintained,
Pools are very cold.
Good variety of food with something to suit everyone. Entertainment is quite tongue and cheek and not the best with loud reps. The biggest let down of this hotel would have to be the rudeness of the bar staff in the evening, all other staff are very polite and can’t do enough for you but I have never been to a hotel where I have found the staff to be so rude at the bar.
