Tsomgo lake comes on you way while travelling to Nathula pass. Honesty I found it more interesting than the ultimate destination itself. Beautiful lake in the middle of a valley, surrounded by another capped mountains is a treat. The cable service takes you to the peak of the summit which gives an absolutely breathtaking view of the valley. If you visit Gangtok then you have to visit the lake

Reached the lake after a 2 hours journey. The place is stunningly beautiful. A lake surrounded by snow capped mountains.
Although the road around the lake is narrow and is crammed with tourist vehicles. The passage to the lake was heavily crowded with tourists and yak riders and the icy covering made it quite impossible to reach the final point in the lake.
With thousands of tourists flocked at one point, the place seemed quite mismanaged.

One Should get down here before going to Nathula Pass or After Going to Nathula Pass.I prefer first option..Have Photography Session and place is scenic so one can have good photis for DPs..
Place is really peaceful. On the way to Nathula Pass after this lake, there is a army canteen. Where civilians can also buy food and have valuable time with our jawans.. we had coffee, tea and samosas...parceled cookies from there ..those cookies were in same quality for next 2 Month..
Must go to this place..
