“Excellent park for nature lovers”
Reviewed 12 December 2011

It is one the parks where animals are not kept in small cages but in big natural enclosures surrounded by walls. Visiting red panda enclosure is must have for every visitor. The whole zoo is more like a wildlife sanctuary which you can travel by foot.

“Nice big zoo”
Reviewed 2 December 2011

This is a nice big zoo which you realize once you enter it. Be ready to walk quite some distances. The red panda which is the state animal of Sikkim is the main attraction. However we were not able to see it.

it was raining the day we visited the zoo..so it was all the more fun!!we saw the red pandas which are absolutely cute..they are the main attraction of the zoo and completely worth the visit..then we also the white tiger who was sleeping in a far corner so we actually had to search her in the vast enclosure..there are a lot other animals too..it's a treat to the young kids!!

“A few animal to see”
Reviewed 5 November 2011

This is the huge animal park especially by walking up from entrance door. We don't know that we allow to bring taxi up to the mountain from entrance door so we walked. The disappointment is not about walking but it's about where are animals? In the huge park we saw only one black bear, one tiger and oine red panda.

“Large animal enclosures”
Reviewed 21 September 2011

A delightful Zoo after seeing some of the other zoos in India. Here the animals are kept in very large roomy enclosures, many with large walled pastures to themselves. Be prepared for lots of walking, some rather strenous uphill walking. Often the animals hide inside their large open areas, so some luck or good timing is needed to be able to see them. Definitely worth visiting for the animal lovers and folks who want to get away from the noisy city.
