Visiting Sete on a cruise, we thought the Gourmet Walking Tour would be a good introduction to the area.
Nancy met us and another couple at the dock gate. We walked towards the town stopping a couple of times to hear a brief history of the area, before going to the indoor market. We tried a good selection of produce in the market before continuing elsewhere to buy Roquefort cheese, bread and wine. The morning ended with a trip to a patisserie for an original recipe cake. Nancy is a charming guide. It was a most enjoyable morning, one we can wholeheartedly recommend.

Nancy is a professional that truly loves her job. I had booked our tour months ahead of time and I am glad because she had 42 other requests she had to turn down. Nancy met us at the port with a driver and an intern Valentine. We learned about the history of Sete and then toured the market. Nancy has a wonderful rapport with many of the vendors and we had the opportunity to try some amazing food. Next, we headed to a unique medieval town called Aigues Mortes and met by another guide to give us a tour of this area. Nancy remained with us and joined us for lunch that she arranged. Also, we had a little free time to explore on our own. Our last stop was at an oyster farm and it was so much fun. Eating fresh oysters from the lagoon and drinking wine - it was divine.
Nancy is a pleasure to be with and is well connected. She can pretty much arrange anything you have in mind. We really wanted to be without hoards of tourist and Nancy delivered. We do not speak French and many of the places we visited- many people did not speak English. Nancy and Valentine were our translators and tried to teach us some French during the day. It was a lovely day and I definitely want to come back and visit again. Don't hesitate - book asap!

If you are in Sete for at least half a day , and if you like colorful markets and gourmet food , this is the tour to take. We only have one and half hour for our trip lead by Nancy. We all enjoy it tremendously , only wishing that we have more time. Nancy led you to the best shops and it will save you a lot of time compared to if you should be doing it on your own. Important note is that if you are doing it in the morning like we did , it would be prudent to skip breakfast . Yes , you are nibbling on olives, pastries , etc, but they all add up . Enjoy !

This gourmet walking tour in Sete was a highlight of our mediterranean cruise. We had no idea what to expect of this small port and were thrilled with the walk and taste tour. Nancy provided amazing details about the area and we cannot wait to plan another trip to visit for longer. We enjoyed all of the taste stops too. Excellent tour Nancy !!

This walking tour is a great introduction to Sete. No one in our group was familiar with Sete as a destination and this tour opened our eyes to historical, cultural, gastronomic and many other attributes of this lovely sea oriented city. We plan to return for a longer visit and do day trips using Sete as our base. Having an apartment with a kitchen to take advantage of the wide range of produce and seafood offered at the market and shops will be a great joy. The pristine waters of Thau Lagoon provides some of the best oysters I have eaten. Quality wine from the region is delicious and affordable. The cheese shop has among other delectable cheeses the best Roquefort you will ever find.

We visited Sete on a cruise ship. A complementary shuttle took us to the port gate where our guide met us for the tour.
