I visited this land of lakes after around 10 years and the Naini Lake still has the charm in it. The very fist view of the lake will take your breathe away. They offer boating at a price which may be a bit expensive at first but it is definitely worth the price you pay. Boating is recommended after 5:00 PM, in evening so as to avoid the sun and enjoy the chill of the lake. The lake is vast and encircled by hills all around which adds to the beauty of the lake. You can also sit around the lake on Mall road and absorb its beauty. Well maintained, clear water, you will also spot fish in it. Must visit place in Nainital.

Naini lake as the leagend goes came into exsistence when the eye of Goddess Sati fell in the Himalaya. This lake is emrald in color and is in the shape of a human eye. It has fantastic fishes of many colors and ducks adding to its charm.
The lake is surrounded from all sides with mountains. One side has the mall road full of hustle and bustle and other side is thandi sadak( the name itself is so rustic). Thandi sadak is for only walking. No vehicles allowed and there are no shops or houses. Its perfect for nature walk and photography. Its a good place for people who like the best of both the worlds.

it is really surprising to have a huge lake at such great height. the lake make the place livable . it is because of the this lake only people goes there . but it is unfortunate that there is proper upkeep and maintenance of the lake , even the water level is also going down day by day. you can visit the place before it is completely deteriorated.

The lake is quiet and serene. Boating is th e main activity there. Boating in the lake gives a good view of the multicolored trees and flowers around the lake. It is really beautiful. The lake water too is not very dirty like the water in other lakes that I have visited. Boating has fixed rate by the government.
