The food is still as good as the day we first went there many many years ago

A must try is their lobster Thermidor followed with the two types of fried calamari and black pepper calamari. The butter fish is also yummy. Two styles of prawns one plain steamed or the other with salted eggs with prawns are not bad.

To end either try the crispy noodles , fried rice with salted fish or dried fried Hor fun (flat rice noodles) and Mee Hoon.

Dessert do try the Fried Ice Cream.

Those 'in the know' seek out this special place off the beaten track in the fishing village of Teluk Bahang in Penang's northwest corner. Having dined here many times over the past few years, I can promise you -- Fishing Village Seafood is consistently great. Prawn fried rice, sweet and sour chicken or prawns, butter garlic fish fillets, kangkong morning glory in garlic, black pepper squid and to-die-for onion rings are my usual. All low end and inexpensive. At the higher end, there are whole lobsters, tiger prawns, beautiful fish -- all fresh from the sea and prepared by a Hokkien Chinese chef and staff who really know how to cook things right. There are only two desserts but both are amazing -- fried ice cream in a heart-shaped dough and a magnificent mound of mango pudding topped with coconut milk and tapioca beads. The staff are local, friendly, highly experienced and very good at caring for their many customers. For a special meal at lower-than-Georgetown prices, seek out FVS.

Recommended by friend staying in Penang.
Food was tasty and fresh.
Highlight for me was the oysters done 4 ways, and two stood out the cheese and the black bean sauce!
Fried ice cream and mango pudding available for dessert.
Main issue will be transportation...took a grabcar and got stuck in public holiday traffic at Batu ferringhi.
Also driver highlighted, there may be very limited taxi at that area after our meal.
Good for those with cars or have friends driving and I had the latter :)

Though there is no beatiful seaview while dining. I would say this is the best Seafood Restaurant in Teluk Bahang or Batu Ferringhi area, We never miss this Restaurant whenever staying in Batu Ferringhi Hotel.

Fishing Village Seafood is at the extreme opposite end of Penang Island to the Airport. It took a very windy 54 minutes by Uber along the back roads of Balik Pulau to get there from Bayan Lepas Airport. If you're not good in cars over meandering roads i dont suggest this route. As for the restaurant, its so so with a minimal variety of live seafood. All i could see in the holding tanks were a sad bevy of four lobsters and some sorry looking clams. Service was acceptably brisk but that was possibly the main redeeming feature of Village Seafood. To be fair, the steamed "Tau Teh" pomfret and baked crabs were OK but on a taste to effort ratio, "OK" is really not worth the puckee journey that i had to endure to get here. What cemented my opinion of this place were the bamboo clams which were clearly not fresh but which I unfortunately consumed against my better judgement. Its left me with a rather tarnished memory of this place and an unpleasant taste on my palate. From my perspective: Not worth the effort of a visit.
