A special, quiet place. We have visited and stayed here 3 times over the past 4 years. Friendly people, beautiful scenery and energetically special.
Lots to do and see, sacred energetic sites, waterfalls, Hoodoo's, old Mine's and more. The resort has different options for lodging. From camping, to basic one bedroom cabins to multiple bedroom and more equipped cabins. Something for everyone

My sister and I recently had the privilege of staying here. It saddens me to read the last review. as a business owner it is tough when anyone can post anything they want for the world to see, right or wrong and it can sway decision making.
Read the history from their website folks and you will know the intent and what the property and area is about and if/why you should come. If you are looking for a RETREAT, wether to relax or enjoy nature, basically to unplug, then this rustic getaway surrounded by nature and impossible beauty is for you. if you are looking for a spa or party place, please go elsewhere.
This land is more than just that, but for those who believe, you know what I am talking about. Again, read their site for the history of this area. And that public road this last review was talking about runs right through Rays land I believe. It is his business and his job to make sure this area is respected and preserved. Don't interfere with that and you will have no problem with Ray or the Center of the Universe.
I encourage all who should come to do so, you wont regret it.

Gorgeous drive to Vidette from Deadman turnoff on Hwy 1. Lots of lakes to relax at and once you get above the lodge the views are breathtaking. Great fishing location. Lodge is very rustic and suitable for those looking for quiet. Side trips can be had to a variety of natural sites.

A group of friends and myself were recently exploring the Vidette Lake area. The trip into the area was fantastic. We visited an old pioneer homestead (ghost town), stopped at Deadman Falls, checked out Castle Rock Hoodoos Provincial Park, explored some old mines, and enjoyed all the beautiful lakes and fantastic scenery along the way. We were going to visit the Vidette Gold Mine Resort and the "Center of the Universe" but before we got there we had the unfortunate experience of meeting the owner Ray.
During our entire trip we made many stops to take pictures, have lunch and so on. When we arrived at this bluff overlooking Vidette Lake the road was very narrow, so we decided it would be safer to park off the road, we parked about 20 feet off the road on a well marked trail. We took in the sights, took some pictures and were just about to make our way down to the resort when Ray approached us on his 4 wheeler. There was no hello's or how you doing, it was straight into the most obnoxious tirade we had ever seen. He cursed us for trespassing on his land and riding onto his property. There was no reasoning with him at all, he just continued to swear at us until blue in the face.
We were stunned by his attitude and could not believe someone like this could actually run a resort. He has zero people skills and acts like an idiot, if a person was easily intimidated they would have feared for their life. There was absolutely no evidence of any type that we were on his land, we are always respectful of other peoples property and never leave garbage or damage any one else's property. Ray on the other hand, did a u turn on his four wheeler leaving deep ruts in the ditch, needless to say he was on a public road with his four wheeler which has no licence. After our altercation with Ray, we obviously bypassed the Vidette Gold Mine Resort. None of us will ever set foot on his property. My advice, the trip up into the area is well worth the time. Lots of great sights and curvy twisty roads to ride on. Just avoid Ray, who thinks he is the "Center of the Universe"

Room Tip: Find a different resort with friendly owners.

Through a friend of mine we ended op here, what an amazing peaceful place. No electricity, so a perfect place to wind down from everyday busy life. Very friendly host, Ray, he showed us the center of the universe. We stayed there for three nights, wished i had planned a few extra days there. I will go back there someday, that's for sure!

Room Tip: Docks cottage is double the price of the other cabin and definately worth it!
