Flying visit for one night on the final leg of a road trip from Ajaccio via the stunning West coast of Corsica, Calvi & La Balagne and finally Bastia for the ferry back to Nice.

The hotel's located in a peaceful enclosed spot in a converted farm house in what looks like a small development of other similar private buildings. Other than the occasional vehicle passing on the road a couple of hundred metres away the silence is bliss and the light pollution minimal for a nice view of the stars. The nearest town is St. Florent (worth a quick look / some decent offerings for food but wouldn't linger too long..!).

The service right from check-in was genuinely warm, friendly and helpful. The team here are excellent and attentive with an easygoing hassle-free efficiency that gets you settled right in and relaxed.

The hotel has extremely comfortable, characterful and personal rooms with a great private terrace and seating area outside. They offer locally produced snacks placed as welcoming gifts in the room which I thought was a nice touch. The pool area is immaculate and very slick-looking with the cabanas and Jacuzzi tub - all in all great to have a space like this after a long day's exploring.

The offerings at the restaurant and bar are delicious and the atmosphere perfect in the low lighting beside the pool area. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, great menu and wine list. Try the Corsican Myrtle liqueur aperitif!

The drive to Bastia takes about 40mins along the super-weavy D38 / D81. As with most of the D-roads along the West and North coasts the views are truly spectacular, albeit a little a little distracting in the dark at 6 in the morning when you're trying to handle the switchbacks with a smidge of a hangover...

I've already recommended this place to family and friends, great if you're passing through headed to La Balagne or if you're looking for a few days easy access to Cap Corse and the hills around Bastia. Initially disappointed that it wasn't as isolated as I first thought, but then the hotel was incredibly peaceful and private all the same.

We recently stayed at this hotel and really enjoyed it. Even though there is not a lot around the hotel itself it is a beautiful base. We liked it so much we just relaxed by the pool and enjoyed the warm days. The pool and grounds are beautiful and the chef's dinners were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

We stayed in a suite for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is elegantly decorated and furnished and staffed by a great team of friendly and efficient people. Our suite was enormous and was plenty big enough for four of us. We had two terraces giving wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.
The swimming pool was superb with plentiful relaxing beds surrounding it.
Restaurant was good but, and here's my only criticisms:-
a) It is very expensive for what it offers (even by Corsican standard), i.e. €23 for a buffet breakfast is, quite simply, exorbitant.
b) The 4-item daily menu is the same for both lunch and dinner and many items are served, without changing, for several days in a row, consequently, somewhat repetitive to say the least.

We stayed in a suite with our two small children: there was plenty of room, and the suite came with a little terrace where we had dinner one evening, enjoying the views over the gorgeous surrounding hills. The location of La Dimora is very hard to beat, minutes from Saint-Florent and really close to a lot of the highlights of Cap Corse, and the refurbished farmhouse buildings are simply gorgeous. So is the swimming pool, where we came to unwind in the afternoons after days of visits and beach.
The service is quite good: our requests were dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner, although the staff is quite hard to find (maybe hire more staff during high season?).
Like other guests, I was shocked by the cost of what is, essentially, a buffet continental breakfast where you will find stale-ish bread and cereals, as well as some past-their-prime fruit... if you want a cooked breakfast you have to order, but then you must be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes; similarly when the filter coffee runs out, well then wait again you must. With just one waiter helping everyone out, it's no surprise he struggles, but still, it takes away from the positive experience. That said, we soon discoverd you can eat delicious french breakfasts at most restaurants in Saint-Florent, for under 10 Euros...

Room tip: Suites are very spatious and can easily accomodate a family of 4.

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights in June.
We stayed in a suite (Altesa).
From the moment we arrived we felt at home.
We were greeted by the lovely Heidi who made us fell very welcome. She was full of tips about the local area and advised us of some great restaurants to eat at.
All of the other staff including the owner were also lovely.
We ate at the hotel on our first night.
The food was excellent. A little pricey maybe for some but very nice.
The ham with truffle was particularly tasty.
Out suite was huge! Just what you need for a week away. The shower was great and if you want a jacuzzi bath, book this room ..!!
Robes and slippers were provided and the room was kept very clean by the cleaners.
Also, the shower and bath products were excellent.
The pool area was lovely, very chilled out. Lying there looking up at the occasional hawk circling above on the thermals was very relaxing.
Our only minor but slightly annoying gripe was the 23 euros per person for breakfast.
All in need in the morning is a bowl of cereal some coffee and maybe a croissant as I’m away, but I’m really not happy to pay that when a room is over £400 per night.
Having just arrived at another hotel which charges even more for breakfast I think it is quite common here but i do still think it is too much. The hotel we have already booked here for a return in September has breakfast included.
Anyway, apart from the breakfast issue this was an amazing hotel that we would recommend to anyone. Just make the most of the breakfast !
