Fantastic little tapas bar which is mainly frequented by locals. In the back streets away from the main Old Town harbour. Great for tapas, drinks and value for money.

It has become a ritual with our party to start the holiday at this restaurant, and I'd recommend it to anyone. It's located in a quiet part of the Old town harbour away from the normal bustle of the main square. The food is of a high standard and is very cheap, 120 euros for six adults starter, main and wine. Probably a bit difficult to find if you don't know the area, but take a taxi they will get you there. Early evening is probably the best time to dine and I'd recommend the fish and seafood. The staff are also very warm and friendly.

La Chalana is always a real hit with us. The fish is amazing and a Saturday night with the Spanish guitars and singing in this lovely restaurant is always a must. They offer a good selection and the portions are generous. We always say lets not have a starter but end up with the delicious garlic prawns or green peppers.!! You are gauranteed friendly service, to be highly recommended.

We have holidayed in Puerto del Carmen many times. It is a great place with many restaurants. However the pick of the lot is La Chalana. About 200 yards from the busy harbour, it is in a quiet location, serves lovely local fish and prawns and top class steak and meats. The prices are so reasonable and the staff friendly and attentive. I can`t recommend it enough. Its the best!

This is as far removed as you can get from the poor value tourist traps of "the strip". Tucked away uphill behind the harbour, you will have no reason to walk past unless your holiday accommodation is in the area. We were really pleased we came across it.
It is a relatively small and simple restaurant with a bar area at the front which is frequented by both locals and holidaymakers alike.
Good, friendly and efficient service, cracking good quality food, reasonably priced wine and a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Simply a great place to enjoy a meal and an evening out a million miles away from the main areas of the new town.
