Much better than the strip, quieter and more character to this part of the town, some good restaurants here to eat at, nice walks along the boardwalk and a market on a Friday about 10am - 2pm ish.

We stayed this side of town for a week and enjoyed everything the Old Town has to offer. Loads of restaurants (choose wisely as plenty of very touristy ones), fish and cats around the boardwalk, small marina and port - and keep walking to go up the very wiggly path and then onward around the coast plus a good market on Fridays 10-2pm with lots of rubbish for sale but some good stalls too. Thoroughly enjoyed this not quite so touristy part of Lanzarote coast.

What a wonderful place to be.You cannot miss the opportunity to be there at sunset where it is truly magical. We spent some time eating there.

Lovely restaurants and shops around this area, well worth going for a day trip and was an extremely cheap taxi ride from the hotel.

visited on several occasions during our stay in puerto del carmen resort, small concrete harbour, run down area and no real old town, most businesses and stalls on the market in the harbour are either british or irish owned, not much in the way of spanish left in the whole of puerto del camen old town and resort. if you like Salou then you may like this area, if you want spanish then aviod at all costs.
