Stayed one night, July 2009, midweek. Security guard at the gate had me fill out out a form before I could drive to the lobby. Check in was simple, I was given a room key attached a to a small round piece of wood. A worker drove us to our room in a golf cart. Good sized room, decorated in muted tones, no complaints. The room was on the first floor with a small patio outside with two Adirondack chairs.
I walked over to the swimming pool. Mix of people, some families with young children, some older guests (50-70 years in age) and some younger guests (20 years of age and up). The pool has a shallow section that is separated from the deeper part of the pool with a rope. The pool is located adjacent to the beginning part of the beach. Near the pool is a good size bar with tables and chairs. I ordered a glass of red wine and was given a vino tinto from Navarra, Spain. I enjoyed the wine. After several glasses, I was feeling good. This bar also serves cappuccino, soda, presidente beer and cocktails including frozen daiquiris and piña coladas (with or without alcohol, your choice). Service was fast and there was no waiting. The hotel had a lot of space, I never felt crowded, which I enjoy.
I took a swim at the beach. Seems many tourists from Italy, they were fun to be around. On the beach there is a small restaurant that serves hamburgers and hot dogs with self service soda machines.
That night, I ate at the main buffet restaurant, large place, food was good from what I remember, I definitely had a buzz from the vino tinto (red wine). I had breakfast the next day in the same large building. Food was good, plenty of workers walking around to pour fresh coffee and milk. Good assortment of food, cereals, an egg station, many kinds of bread, a fresh juice station.
The sliding doors to the balcony or small patio, have sensors, when the doors are opened the air conditioning cuts off. For the air conditioning to work properly those sensors on the sliding doors have to be touching.
If you use google earth to view this hotel, you will see that there is a huge forest near this hotel, Natural Park Este. Throughout this resort, they have placed small signs next to various plants, with their common name and their scientific name.
I'll be returning to this hotel with my elderly father. If you are looking for all the latest bells and whistles and luxury amenities there are probably other hotels for that. Courteous staff, good service, ample space, clean, good food, then this hotel can provide that.
There is free wifi internet near the lobby. There are also suites near the lobby, inside the suites near the lobby, you can get a signal for the internet.
