We stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon and it was our favourite hotel of the trip. Gorgeous grounds and lovely rooms. Wonderfully relaxing, would love to go there for R&R every year! Great location a short walk from Gargnano which is a beautiful little village on the lake edge.

We have stayed here three times ( a fourth is coming up in a week) and have concluded that this is our favourite hotel - the location, with no road within sight or sound, lawns sweeping down to the lake, the ambience of the beautiful house , the staff and the food . Breakfast on the terrace looking across the lake to Monte Baldo is a delight.
The pretty port of Gargnano is a gentle walk away , with the lakeside lined with cafes and bars.

The place was amazing. Set in the small town of Gargnano within walking distance to the town, ferries and restaurants. Very quiet location with gorgeous grounds that were very well maintained. The room had a great view of the lake and the staff was quite friendly. My only caution would be going to the restaurant for dinner. It was very expensive but the food was not excellent. It was fine but not worth the cost. Otherwise I can only say good things about the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

We were on a trip around France and Italy (Antibes, Venice and Lake Garda) and stayed here for 3 nights.

We have been to Gargnano many times before and remember this hotel being 3 star and it seems it has recently become 4 star. Being there in person it exceeded our expectation of what we thought was going to be a modest hotel.

* superb staff who all spoke perfect english.
* superb location (a short swim away from Grand Villa Feltrinelli which is 2000 Euros a night)
* magnificent grounds right on the lake
* lovely facilities including a very nice pool with gym equipment around it
* very nice room (only concern was bathroom being a bit dated)
* very nice breakfast on terrace overlooking lake.

Overall if you want a just a bed and spend your time on the lake book a B&B. If you want top notch luxury spend 6 times as much as book the Feltrinelli. However if you want comfortable, affordable luxury and a great location book here.

Only concern was all the wasps during breakfast...

Gargnano has avoided the worst excesses of tourism that afflict the lake resorts further south and this hotel, just a stroll away from its centre, offers a pleasant haven for a few days R&R.
The setting is perfect, in a beautifully tended garden beside the lake, and offers a variety of room types: in the main building itself, in a modern annex overlooking the pool area and in villas/cottages on the lake side of the garden.
Rooms, spotlessly clean, are well furnished either in a modern (but not 'cool') style or more traditionally.
Meals are served on the terrace overlooking the lake which on a fine day takes some beating for a pleasant place to eat. If wet, one eats in the dining room which, at dinner, lacks atmosphere, but there are several restaurants in the town itself as an alternative, ranging from the very simple (San Martino/three geese) to the more upmarket Miralago and the even higher class Tortuga (though its dining room too lacks charm).
Food is to a very high standard. Breakfast was excellent: buffet style with hot (scrambled eggs sausage/bacon) plus ham, cheeses, cereals, breads and an excellent choice of fresh fruit. Lunch included several salad options plus some heavier dishes, including lake fish of the day. Dinner involved some pretty serious, but never pretentious, cooking. The menu was a la carte with main courses around Euro 20 and desserts, somewhat surprisingly, about the same. Limited selection of wines by the glass.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful indeed and couldn't do enough to try and make the stay enjoyable. Restaurant staff rather less so, but maybe that was the 'end of the season' effect.

Room Tip: The lakeside/garden cottages/villas are the nicest, though most expensive, accommodation. Go for room 2 (ground level) or 22, above room 02.
