“Lovely local restaurant, excellent pizza”

We ate here tonight after looking for something close to our accommodation and were delighted to find this place. Staff were very friendly and the majority of patrons were locals rather than tourists (which I always take as a good sign) and although service was a little slow, it appears this is a family operation with two front of house and possibly just one chef, so understandable and we're on holiday so in no rush. It's in a simple setting and the gazebo on the terrace was just fine - there are some tables with good views out to the lake. We both ordered pizza (vegetariana and a sausage with artichoke) and it was excellent, and big! We also had a side salad and were given oil and balsamic to dress to our preference. One table near us ordered what looked like a seafood grill plate and it looked excellent, as did the pasta which passed by our table. Pizza seemed to be the strong option though, good to soak up the complimentary limoncello! Thinking about going back before our holiday finishes.

I strongly suggest to avoid this place. We had to eat in a cheap tent with plastic garden chairs. People were watching football (which is understandable during this time), whilst smoking ínside the tent. The staff was ok, not really friendly, but the food was horrible. We asked for simple dishes, because we did not really trust the place: spaghetti carbonara and lasagna. My boyfriends lasagna was hard as rock and completely dried out. I did not have any eggs in my carbonara, only cream. The bacon tasted sour. We both did not finish even half of our p'ate, yet we did have to pay the full price, though we clearly stated the food did not rise to our expectations.

I wonder how a place which received so many good reviews did so poorly. This is the first time ever I gave a one-star review.

The typical experience you dream about for an italien restaurant. Typical people ( just one family running the restaurant ), simple setting ( both bar and restaurant ), amazing food ( went there 4 nights in a row trying salads, pizza and pastas all are done just right! ) and playful service! The owner who waited on us seemed a little cold at first, but he was joking with tables around us and came around trying to joke with us too despite the language barrier.
On top of the experience described above, it’s a very quite place compared to the direct competition in the same area.
I would recommend this place to anyone who ever like pizza!
Did i say they are proud of their homemade limoncello that you’ll get a glass of every single time?

Doesn't look very fancy from the outside, but as they say, don't judge a book by its cover.
This restaurant has great pizza and the best hospitality I've ever seen from a pizzeria so far.
Unpretentious family restaurant, great food, fab house white wine, really reasonable (like 39 euros for 3 with a couple of glasses of wine, 2 Prosecco and some home made Limoncello thrown in!)
A real family ethos. Kind little touches that go beyond the extra mile.
Why don't we have more of these in Uk? Not sure we can do it like the Italians.
Great informal food with lake breezes and view over Como.
Such a refreshing change from some of the pretension in the rest of the Como district.
Dress down, chill out, be yourself, eat drink and be merry.
