“The Best Hoilday i have ever been on Great Family Run Hotel”
Reviewed 15 July 2011

I have Just been to The Aspro Spiti for one week and myself and the children aged 7 and 10 had a fab time there the hotle is located just next door to the supermarket and every thing you need is on your door step. The Hotel is run extramly well and the Family will bend over backwards to help you. It is a safe place to take your children and you are made to feel like you have been there for ages, Nicos and Poppy and there lovely family have made this a real family place to be and i would recomed the hotel to everyone young and old. The prices at the pool bar are very good and excelent value for money a d the food is very good and i would recomend you join in the fun with the fab theam nights they run at the hotel. a holiday i will never forget and i will be returning very soon. Thankyouy to you all at Aspro Spiti for your kindness and graet fun you provided we all miss being there.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at Aspro spiti, was made to feel very welcome by Niko and his family.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was very clean and comfortable, the kitchenette was equiped with everything we needed i.e. plenty of cups, plates, pans and cutelry. Air conditioning is at a cost of 5euros a day, we did not purchase this and instead opened the windows slightly at night.

The pool area is very nice, good sized pool and plenty of sun loungers. I read in previous reviews that the pool was not cleaned and the surrounding area was dirty, do not let this put you off!!! The pool and pool side was cleaned daily and was a lovely relaxing way to spend the day.

There are plenty of meals available at the snack bar, all of which are very reasonably priced i .e. a full english breakfast including drinks for 4euros. There is also a greek night every sunday which is not to be missed. All of the family get togehter with the guests for a bbq and lots of greek dancing!!

Overall a brilliant holiday with brilliant owners, nothing was too much trouble.
Close to bars, resturaunts and the beech ( Mascot bar was a good night out for all ages)
Will definatly be back soon, thankyou Niko.
Zoe and Rachel xx

We have travelled to the Greek islands for many years and this was our third visit to Kos. We stayed early June and was surprised to find only one other couple staying at the appts. A family arrived following day with two small children - that was the occupancy for the week.
Basic accomodation with potential to be so much better. Allocated a one bedroom appt but found later that the studios at the far end of the property were much more roomy and would have suited us better. Our living accomodation had a a small kitchenette - 2 ring cooker, sink and fridge (crockery was plastic which I thought was odd). This room also had a bunk bed and a couple of odd chairs. Bedroom was small but comfortable and offered access to a nice small balcony via a narrow patio door. While the rooms were fairly clean it was dusty but adequate. Had an issue with a kettle and faulty light bulbs. Kettle was sorted but as far as I know the two lights still don't work. Pool area was a bit grubby, only swept and cleaned on the last day we were there (prior to the next weeks intake I guess). Nicos the owner is a really nice guy, made us feel very welcome on arrival. Bar area is good with plenty of seating and tables. Air con is 5 Euros per day (which you will almost certainly need). Appts are situated a pleasant 15 minute stroll down the strip to the front where there are plenty of good bars and restaurants. Katras cocktail bar was a good start to the night. The Meni bar was also pretty good. Restaurants - The Tigaki Restaurant gives good quality food and service at a very fair price, we found Sagitarius (200 yards from appts) very good for quality, service and price and also the Meni restaurant. We didn't eat at the 'blue & white' restaurant or Oniero but were told they were excellent. The beach is excellent and the waters seem particularly safe. Sunbeds and a parasol were 6 Euros per day. On the beach service is available at some of these. We used Micki's Aussie Beach Bar for this, served by Micki, Alison and Silke. Good bar, good snacks and prices. There is only one ATM in the resort (right by the Meni bar) which is very unreliable so make sure you get some cash while its working, if not the nearest ATM is in Zipari about 5 miles away. Local bus into Kos town is 2 Euros each way and runs virtually every hour, journey about 15 minutes. We will definitely be going back to Tigaki, loved it !!

We have recently returned from Aspro Spiti Apartments, after a two week stay there. What a WONDERFUL place! It is run exclusively by family members, which includes Grandparents, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles etc, even the children of the family helped out on occasion, with serving food or leading the dancing on their Greek Night (which was great by the way). The apartments are currently only open for three months of the year, from July to September, and can booked as a complete package holiday including flights and transfers from http://www.cosmos-holidays.co.uk/holidays for around £450.00 for 7 nights up to only £580.00 for 21 nights! The cooking facilities provided in the apartments are quite limited compared to English standards, just a small double hotplate and microwave oven, making cooking very difficult, but there is cooked food available on site, a well stocked supermarket right next door, and simply LOADS of good restaurants within a few minutes’ walk, so you won't starve! If you book through Cosmos, you will get a visit from a holiday tour rep during your stay, and they will offer you several excursions at reasonable prices. I can thoroughly recommend both the three Island tour and the Greek Night at Zia, both were very enjoyable! Tigaki itself is good for families, and caters well for holiday makers generally. The beach is quite nice, although there was a bit of rubbish unfortunately, and be prepared to pay for the sun loungers on the beach too, at a cost of around €3.50 each per day! The sunsets however are STUNNING! There is a bus stop just outside the supermarket next door, where you can catch a bus into Kos town fairly cheaply, but be warned that the buses are ALWAYS jam packed with people, and sometimes they are so full that they simply drive past and you have to wait for the next one, so allow time for this probability! If you would prefer a taxi to take you somewhere, simply ask at the Aspro Spiti bar, and a family member will ring one for you. There is a lovely open air swimming pool with sun loungers, which is available between 9am and 6pm every day free of charge; our son literally LIVED in it from the time we arrived until the day we left! The apartments are provided with clean linen throughout the week, and the beds etc are made regularly for you, also by another family member! One thing you really do need to budget for however is the air conditioning, at a cost of €5.00 per day; it is an absolute must, as the heat can become quite overwhelming at times, and it is not included in the original cost of your holiday. You don't need to order it in advance, simple ask when you arrive at the Aspro Spiti Apartments, and they will give you a key to activate the air conditioning unit in your apartment. Aspro Spiti only accepts cash though, no cards. Another tip is to make sure you buy some electric plug-in mosquito repellent units from the supermarket next door as soon as you arrive and plug them in straight away; they are very cheap at only €3.00 to €5.00 depending upon which one you choose. I got bitten very badly in the first couple of days by mosquitoes, and got dreadfully sore and swollen ankles as a result, so I would say that mosquito repellents are a must also. English and German are spoken locally by just about everyone, or that's how it seemed, so being understood as you make your way around is no problem. We were made to feel like part of the Diakanastasis extended family, and there were tears all round, from both us and them when we had to leave! We would definitely recommend the Aspro Spiti Apartments to anyone, but especially families with younger children, as they are small and personal and take the trouble to get to know you and your family so you always feel as though your children are in safe hands there. We missed them as soon as we left, and want to return again as soon as we can. Do go, you will NOT be disappointed!

Just returned from Aspro Spiti, absolutely FABULOUS! Clean, well positioned apartments, with a superb atmosphere and a cracking pool. The place is owned by Nicos and his lovely family, who will do everything in their power to make you feel welcome. The bar snacks are some of the best in Tingaki, and all the drinks are very reasonably priced too.Nicely positioned at the top of 'The Strip', it's a stroll in the evenings to the taverna of your choice. We took our grandchildren aged 17 and 12 and they didn't want to leave, neither did we!Wer'e missing you all already. This place scores 20 out of 10 ! Thanks Nicos and Maria for a truly memorable holiday, hope to see you again in September. love Sue and Barrie and family.x

Got back from 1 week stay at Aspro Appts having stayed B/B.We had a great time, rooms were exactly what we expected, nice clean beds/ hot shower, plenty of space for clothes etc.
Pool was super, nice and clean, plenty of sunbeds whenever we wanted and good bar service.
You walk 1K down the main road to the centre of town, passing all the shops/bars etc to the beach. The beach is ok,they charge 3 euros for beds, unless you use one of the beachfront bars ,which we did [Dana] and then its free but you then use their bar for drinks/meals.Bus runs outside hotel for Kos Town 1.8 euros if you want to visit,it takes about 10/15 mins,
The only trip we done was the 3 island tour, which was great, apart from that had great 7 days in Tigaki.Enough bars and restaurants to go to each night, hotel bar seemed quiet though. The only slight minus side was every one seems to keep chickens in their gardens and you can hear them early in morning, which you do tend to get used too.
After saying that, would def stay here again and loved Tigaki and the island of Kos,we booked with Fleetway Travel and used Viking Air[who sometime get bad reviews]and every thing went spot on.

We have just returned from a week's holiday staying at the Aspro Spiti Apartment. We booked just 2 days before departure.
On arrival the apartment was clean but basic. As expected for Greece. The room was cleaned everyday except Sunday. All the staff were friendly & hospitable. Air conditioning is a must 5 euros extra per day. The pool was never full,so there were always sun beds available.
The pools are very child friendly, however the child pool has lots of insects floating. But think this is due to lack of use. My 2 children enjoyed smimming in big pool.
The kitchen facilities are basic with fridge, microwave & 2 hob electric burner. We only had breakfast in apartment. The only downside to room was that the room had bunk beds. This was not suitable for my 3 & 4 yr old. They ended up top and tailing on the bottom bunk. Which was fine for them.
There is a big shopping centre right next door, which sells everything. The bus stop to Kos Town is just outside that aswell. The buses run every hour, They do get very busy.

The walk to beach takes around 15 - 20 mins. However there are many shops, bars, restaurants to stop on way. I would recommend Meni Restaurant.

On the sunday we went to the Greek Night in Zia, booked with Tigaki Express. It cost 54 euros, (4 yrs & under are free ). Well worth a visit very entertaining. The sunset is beautiful.

Car hire is very expensive 60 euros per day for jeep, but worth it for seeing Magic Beach.(near Paradise Beach) We think the best beach on the island. We arrived just before 10 am. Deserted, the kids loved it.
