Back from 5 fab days in Barcelona staying at this wonderful hotel. All the staff were helpful & pleasant, rooms were clean & spacious stocked with plenty of toiletries. Gym was small but good, sauna & steam were brill, rooftop pool was lovely but could get crowded as it was a tad on the small side. Easy access to all attractions. Within 5 min walk of the train station( regular & on time) that linked you to the metro system. The transport wax amazing. Hotel is 20 mins from the airport. Easy to reach via the number 46 bus costing €4.40 for 2 people better than the €40 quoted in a taxi bus stop is less then a 5 min walk to hotel. Went to see a match while we were there too so that just topped of this fab holiday. Definitely go back to this hotel again on our next visit to this beautiful city

If you want to be outside of tourist central in local neighborhoods with some great food and cafes around, this is a good choice. Staff was polite and a bit overworked. Free parking was a great extra.

What a wonderful experience staying at Hotel SB. Very professional staff. Family room was perfect and comfortable for 4 of us to stay in (1 king bed and 2 single Murphy beds). Excellent amenities--mini bar fridge, ice machines centrally located beside elevator, very clean rooms and bedding, tastefully decorated, very cool lobby and hang out areas, sauna, gym and Turkish bath were all great. Pool is small but a lovely atmosphere on the roof with the cafe. It was too cold to swim but would love to re-visit in the summer to see this area open and up and running.

Had 2 meals at the hotel and both times the food was very good (highly recommend their flatbread pizza and lavish garden salad), excellent service and well-presented. We did the buffet breakfast only once and as we had not booked it in advance it cost 15 euro per person and while it was good it was definitely over-priced at 15. Little things like pre-cooked eggs and no access to a toaster would suggest this meal is more worth the pre-booked price of 8 euro each.

We took the hotel-recommended shuttle from the airport for 25 Euro and that was worth it to have someone with a sign waiting for us especially as our flight arrived close to 11 pm. It cost 30 euro to go back with the taxis at the front of the hotel but you can take the train or a coach for much less but I chose the taxi option because of travelling with children.

The metro station was nearby and very handy for taking us everywhere we needed to go--La Sagrada Familia (buy tickets online in advance) Tibidabo (don't go on a windy day but children LOVED the amusement park just the same), Boqueria, Las Ramblas, Aquarium Barcelona. We took a taxi to and from the magic fountains for 9 euro each way since we were traveling late as girls on our own but we never ever felt worried or threatened in all of our traveling around Barcelona. The customers service everywhere was excellent and people who live in Barcelona were always willing to give us assistance and point us in the right direction if we were not sure where to go.

Must recommend taking the coach to Sitges which was absolutely beautiful; and well worth the trip in a luxury bus at 4 euro each. We caught the bus from a bus stop near to Hotel SB and it returned us right to Gran Via 2. Sitges was amazing, no harassment, calm, lovely atmosphere, beautiful beach, church, monuments and I cannot wait to go again.

Hotel SB being located across from the Gran Via 2 mall was so convenient with the Carre Four supermarket (like a super Walmart) we were able to buy food and beverage items there. (tip: Remember wash cloths are not standard in Spain but we were able to buy these in Carre Four for 1 euro). Also there are a wide range of dining options at the food court. Highly recommend the wraps and gyros from the Greek restaurant and DO NOT recommend the Chinese Buffet--over-priced and the food on the buffet line was cold plus the hostess did not know any Spanish and could not comprehend what Agua or water was plus had no customer service skills--bad combination! Really the only bad service experienced in a 6 night stay in Barcelona.

The area that the hotel is located in seemed to be a business district as well as an area where a lot of locals lived. There were not a lot of great restaurants in walking distance (except for the Food Court at the mall) but it was so easy to get into Las Ramblas etc. that I do not think this was a problem plus the hotel's restaurant is very good. It was great to be close to the airport and for traveling to Sitges which was just a 35 minute drive away.

We would love to return to Hotel SB!

We went to Barcelona for the 1st time and stayed at SB Plaza for 5 nights. The room was nice and cozy. Location is fairly good where you still need to use the metro to reach Espanya as it’s not a short walk if your staying for long. Overall, it was a good choice

Room Tip: Take the bssic room as it must be good.

Although the actual location itself isn’t great, it’s by a subway which takes you into the heart of Barca which is very useful (and saves on staying right in the heart of the city).

Rooms are very very compact.
